My stay at the Travelodge, in Silver Spring, MD, Sat., May 11, 2013, was one I will not forget. Initially, I was given a room that did not have light in the bathroom. The second room did not have the hotel latch (close), yet the staff had bullet-proof glass. I had to settle for a smoking room which had dirty carpet, doors, no irons, etc. « less

Nothing like paying $85 for a $40 room to let you know you are doing business in one of the most corrupt cities in the world, Washington D. C. No fridge, 1 ice machine upstairs and on the other side of the motel; an ash tray, (yes they still smoke here); a TV made in the early eighties with picture and sound qualities appropriate for its age; leaves the only thing up to date in this time warp motel is the price you pay to enter. « less

This hotel is an absolute dump! It should be closed. It smells bad, is dirty, damaged and has an ant problem. Showers do not work, in fact finally got it turned on had to leave it running cause it couldn't be turned off. Told the staff no one would do anything. We left and went to another hotel. chair in room was broken, phone and TV had the wires pulled from the wall and stuck back in nothing worked. Breakfast was advertised but was not available. « less

Filed a complaint. # 3037160 please review. Terrible room security and safety issues. I have stayed at other Travel Lodges and never anything like this! We used the restrooms at the Subway sub shop rather than the bathroom. Would not use the shower. « less

Good morning, Thank you this opportunity to allow customers to comment on recent trips/visits. First, of all, the picture is very deceptive. The actual place was nothing as the web site stated. I requested a "non-smoking" room and the room smelled of smoke. The bathroom shower had "black hair" in the tub. Several times in the evening, strangers "hung" out outside of this establishment til late hours of the night. They kept up "loud talking" and I would wonder why the management did not ask for these individuals to move or leave the area. I was offered a job at the NIH in Bethesda and I would search better next time and stay elsewhere. « less
