We have just returned from a weeks vacation at the Hotel Eden in Puerto Soller, we chose this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews saying it was central to most things in the resort. We arrived a little early as our room had not been prepared but were able to leave our cases in a small room by the reception. We decided to have lunch in a nearby restaurant.
On our return to the hotel we were given room 114 with a side view from the hotel. The room although a little basic and looking a bit tired was fairly large and we have no complaints. The bed was comfortable although we could have done with extra pillows. We hired the safe and refrigerator for a small charge and a deposit for the key. We do like a chilled bottle of wine when sitting out on the balcony in the early evening. Our balcony in April was in sunlight at around 6 pm.
We did not have luck with the weather, it was fairly cool most of the week and temperatures only averaged about 18 degrees. The evenings were chilly and we both need a wooly pulley to keep us warm. It even rained, quite heavily at times, but didn't spoil our holiday.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found the breakfasts great, plenty to choose from although as mentioned before they need to take advantage of the oranges growing nearby and provide real juice. The bar area was fine and the staff were attentive to our needs. The hotel has a lovely pool area and the views of the bay are breathtaking.
The hotel is ideally placed at the heart of the resort with plenty of restaurants near by, our favourites were Ses Oliveres, the beach cafe Es Reco and Ribes. The best place we thought to eat which served local dishes was called Sol y Sombra this is a ten minute walk from the hotel inland past the bus stop for Palmer and about 200 yards further on, on the right hand side. Meals including wine are half the price charged on the sea front.

The staff were uniformly friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean, but quite basic. The views over the promenade and bay, however, were fabulous. Charming to hear the old tram making its way across the portside. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. I did not pay for a seaview room, but my balcony did overlook it. I don't usually get half-board, but it was so reasonable that I decided to give it a go. Not all things that I would eat, but plenty of variety so that most people would be happy with the choices. Both breakfast and dinner were buffets; ample selection, frequently refreshed. I had a dental emergency while I was there, and the staff went over and beyond to see that I would be helped. Stayed at Hotel Eden as part of a group of nine people. Seven (men), who were cycling and two(woman), who were walking. Husband had been before and although he told me it was a nice hotel, I was a bit sceptical as sometimes his perceptions are not the same as mine. However I was pleasantly surprised. The Hotel is situated right in the middle of Port de Solier, directly overlooking the sea and promenade. The Tram which can get you all the way to Palma, runs right outside which is very useful and it is just around the corner from bus stops too. There are a variety of bars and restaurants and shops either side of the hotel. The Hotel is clean and spacious, with helpful reception staff who will answer any questions you have about where to go for things. The rooms with a balcony are big, with more than enough space for luggage etc. There is a hairdryer In the bathroom. The hotel has designated facilities for both cyclists and walkers, with rooms on the ground floor set aside for storage and cleaning. The food is adequate. It is on an all you can eat buffet style basis. The food is filling and quite varied. Its not the best I've had, but not the worst either. There are many German guests and the food reflects this. There is a very large bar area, which is clean and comfortable. At the time we went there was no music on in the background, which made it easy to talk. The Hotel is a fantastic base for both walkers and cyclists. It is efficient, excellent value for money, clean and with helpful staff. it suited our (middle aged) needs perfectly, but a group of younger people might find it a bit quiet. « less

Just returned from a super week's stay on a half-board basis. The hotel is in an excellent location facing the bay over a pedestrianised road and tram line and is central for both ends of the bay. As previous reviewers have said, the rooms are fairly basic and very clean. Our standard room was small with a tiny balcony, but had a great view over the bay.
The hotel seemed to be very busy for the majority of our stay, with British guests very much in the minority. The majority of visitors seemed to be German holidaying with German tour operators. The food on offer seemed to be more tailored to their German clientele, with lots of pickled vegetables, cheeses and hams. There was a good selection of main courses, but quite lacking in fresh vegetables. However, keeping it in perspective, this is a 3 star hotel providing good accommodation and food at a competitive price. Being in the "orange" centre of the world, it was rather disappointing not to have fresh orange juice at breakfast time. Especially when you could buy about 6 oranges for 50 cents locally.
Sun patio around the pool is lovely, overlooking the bay, with good quality sun beds and chairs
Staff in the bar area and dining room were attentive and very pleasant.
All in all a great place to stay for the price paid. We booked direct with the hotel and arranged flights and transfer separately. A great location with super walking opportunities all around the area.
