Arrived very early (like 7am) and Kim let us leave luggage so we could start our first day. Upstairs room was fine for us with separate bathroom, kitchen area, fridge, tv. New Brighton is a short drive from Christchurch and has suffered from the quakes but not as bad as the city. Would recommend. « less

We wound up in this rather unlikely part of the city because we wanted to be near people in New Brighton that we were visiting. The owner was very welcoming, the room was spacious and clean and perfect for our family of four. The decor might not be to everyone's taste but what cannot fail to please is that a lot of attention has gone in to the details - for example the rose petals that are strewn around are a thoughtul touch and present a picture that is anything but utilitarian. It is true, the location is far away from the centre of Christchurch, but, on the other hand, at the time of writing Christchurch has no meaningful centre and it takes ages to get from anywhere to anywhere - so, you might as well stay here as elsewhere. On the practical side everything was absolutely okay, or better. Bed good, kitchen well equipped, free internet connection (npt for huge downloads but email, google maps etc. is all okay). The kitchen is shared, but as there are only three rooms this didn't present a problem, at least on the day that I was there. A very enjoyable stay, even if rather short. I would definitely recommend this accommodation. « less

This is a lovely B&B that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Christchurch on budget to stay at (note: it's not very centrally located but is beside the beach). The room I stayed in was really comfortable with great facilities including a massive flatscreen TV with tons of channels! The kitchen was lovely and clean as was the rest of the place. The host was helpful too. « less

Nice flowery garden, generous room size with kitchenette and comfy bed. Off street parking, helpful owner. Close to NW area beaches rather than the city. « less

クライストチャーチの市内中心部からバスで20分ほど、ニューブライトンという海岸方向へ行った閑静な住宅街にある宿です。一軒家の半分ほど、３室を客室とし、残る半分ほどはオーナーが暮らすという日本で言う民宿のような感じの宿でした。12畳ほどの個室にキングサイズベッド一つと二段ベッドが一つ（一人で泊まったので使いようもなかったが）、ウオークインクローゼットと浴室（トイレとシャワーのみで湯船はなし）があり、全面の窓を開けると自分専用の小ぶりな庭がついています。果樹が植えられた庭のテラスにはテーブルとイスが置かれ、そこでタバコを吸えます。夜には星が美しく、宿の人に「サザンクロスはどれだ」と聞いて、教えてもらいました。これで１泊4000円強と格安です。日本出国前のドタバタの中で、日付を３日間後ろに間違えて予約してしまったことに気づき、オーストラリア滞在中に初日の分を改めてネット予約、宿に到着後、間違った予約の件を伝えたところ、無料で翌日分に振り替えてくれました。その対応や庭付きの部屋に気に入り、現金払い（一泊62ＮＺ＄）で２泊延泊しました。ニューブライトンの海岸までは徒歩15分、カウントダウンというスーパーがあるので、菓子や酒などは買って持ち帰れば、共同キッチンや冷蔵庫で保存・調理もできます（宿の近所には店がないため）。また電気ポットでお湯を沸かせるほか、コーヒー、紅茶、パンが無料で飲食できます。帰りは空港へシャトルタクシーの予約をしておいたほうがいでしょう（流しのタクシーは滅多にとおらない）。私の場合、空港まで33＄でした。 « less
