Next to Escher-Wyss Platz, the hotel is the perfect location for a leisure journey in Zurich with friends: in the heart of the renewed area of Züri West, full of pubs and clubs. Actually, it's also a good location for families and couples: few meters away and you can enjoy the quietness of Zurich and have a walk along the Limmat River (where you can go for a swim in the summer in the numerous baths) to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). Trams and buses to the centre/Bahnhofstrasse (5' journey) are 2 minutes by walk from the hotel. Easy to reach by the motorways or trains (Hardbrücke), there are also car parks along the street (blu zone parks: up to 1h with parking disk from 8 am to 6 pm, free from Saturday at 6 pm till Monday at 8 am or day permits sold at the local police stations at 15 chf; white zone parks: up to one or two hours max, to be paid at the parking metre). The rooms were comfortable and very clean: nothing bad to be reported. Indeed, there is also a coffee machine with free coffees to do in every room: a nice thought for the guests. The rooms on the back side are quite, despite the pubs next to the hotel in the front. I will consider returning here if I have to come back in Zurich. « less

Coffee machine in the room. I would recommend this for young people only, because it can be hard to for older to stand the way people in Zurich party. « less

On check-in I was given a key on a MASSIVE heavy key fob, very retro. This means that you hand in the key each time you leave the hotel. Not a major issue, but the staff seemed reluctant to get up from behind reception and give me back your key when I returned. After being ignored a couple of times, I had to raise my voice to get someone to come out from behind a desk and give me my key.
The room was small and basic and there was no room temperature control, instead there’s a sign stating “please call reception”. The double bed was two singles pushed together.
No kettle is provided, so bad news for tea drinkers. There is a Nespresso machine, but I had to call Reception to ask for Nespresso capsules as none were provided.
Breakfast was not included. The hotel charges 22CHF (circa £15) for a very mediocre breakfast, consisting of juice, yoghurt and various breads – very limited choice of hot food. « less

Rooms are not up to 4* rating. 1st room we were assigned had a strange smell. The window had been left wide When I called housekeeping, they pretended there was nothing wrong. Had to put air con on which was too nosy. Went to take a shower, squirted everywhere & cold. Eventually we were given a quieter room but bed frames creaked when you turned over so not a good nights sleep. Coffee machine did not work when we wanted a coffee in the morning.
