Very nice hotel. Stayed for business on a project - extremely convenient to Nellis AFB & NV ARNG facilities. What makes this hotel is the outstanding customer service provided by Kathy (GM) and Vincent. As a business traveler, it's the extra attention to detail that makes all the difference. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vegas (especially if you want a non-Casino hotel).

For the purposes of a "stopover hotel" - this was probably the best stay we've had at a hotel in the Las Vegas area. We use Vegas as an overnight stop on family road trips - and it was HEAVENLY to walk into a lobby without slot machines! The room we had was clean and spacious, the pool was lovely and still had clean towels close to closing.
I expect when there is a race at the nearby Speedway this place is packed, so be aware. For our non-race day stay, this place was great.
Overall an outstanding stay here - we will be back! « less

This hotel is located close to Nellis Air force base and be prepared to see some fantastic aircraft and hear them occasionally too. They did not disturb me at night, but I may have been lucky. The rooms are clean modern and allow a business man like myself to work in peace and lounge when work is done. I-15 is close by with access to anywhere Vegas, but with a little distance from the hotspots of Vegas. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is the normal waffle, sausage and egg hot buffet and plenty of room to sit. I had a special visit this last time because of the capture of the Boston bombing suspects, some of the quests where playing bagpipes in the parking lot and it was a unique salute to the Bostonians who had been indoors during their city lock down. Well I don't see that happening again, but just so that you know they felt comfortable enough with the neighborhood and such that they played their hearts out. I'll be back this hotel again and soon. « less

When we were swimming, the parking lot was turned into a mechanic shop for several off road racing teams. Tough to enjoy swimming, when mechanics are smoking, swearing, and watching our family swim the whole time. Very awkward. « less

As far as location/area, the Springhill Suites Las Vegas North Speedway is a typical off the highway hotel, but it is an excellent off the highway hotel. The hotel is clean and modern. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The hotel had a small but nice exercise room and pool. The only drawback, which is beyond the control of the staff, was the room design. I do not know why hotel chains sometimes think they need to reinvent the wheel. The room we were in had a large tall divider type desk separating the couch/seating area from the bed. The partition only served to make the room seem small and crowded. Instead of a closet there was a "wardrobe" which was smaller than a closet one typically finds in a hotel room. There was a separate toilet room with a small sink in addition to the shower area with a sink. A separate toilet room is nice but the second sink would have been better suited over by the small refrigerator and microwave, which had none. The toilet area sink was set in the corner with two mirrors that were worthless as their 90 degree placement made it impossible to see your reflection. All in all, other than architects/interior designers that don't know when to leave well enough alone, the hotel is a nice, clean, and friendly stay. « less
