this was booked as a 2 day Stena car +2 break to Edinburgh. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Capital and would have no hesitation in revisiting or reccommending it to others The hotel is very coveniently situated within easy reach of the airport, M8 & M9 motorways and is on the 26 bus route (every 10 mins.) to city centre. The hotel looks out to parkland giving a peaceful country feel The staff are very welcoming and helpful with lovely Scottish accents. The rooms are excellent with very comfortable beds, spacious and spotlessly clean, We had during our stay bar snack, dinner and Breakfast--all faultless-good range, cooked to perfection, nicely presented and delivered by pleasant friendly staff and reasonably priced. « less

Wow what a great hotel.
This hotel has everything at an amazing price.
I wast here for 2 weeks at the end of April and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Great room - good size, large and comfy bed, free wifi, fantastic views of the Airport, Forth Road Bridge etc (level 3 has the best views), strong shower. Very clean as well.
Breakfast was consistently good and the restaurant (pm) food quality (and price) was surprisingly good.
The pool, gym, sauna and steam room were of a really high standard and completely free to hotel guests.
Free parking and a nice bar to have a quiet drink (or three).
The best thing about the hotel however was the staff. All very friendly and it is clear they have been well trained in customer relations.
All this for an incredible price (I paid 40 pounds per night inc full buffet breakfast).
If I had to be hyper-critical I would say the wifi is a tad "iffy" in the rooms...quite slow, but adequate.....and the buffet breakfast could maybe be varied a bit from day to day (perhaps a more extensive bakery section?). Also a mini-fridge in the room would be a plus.
Overall though, an absolutely brilliant hotel and I will definitely come back here. « less

Spent the weekend because of a wedding. It's always nice getting away and Edinburgh is a very nice place. The hotel made our weekend just that extra bit better. Couldn't believe it is only 3 stars. Family rooms are big and great. Only had breakfast in the hotel but great buffet. Location is great. Only 20mins from city but the 26 bus service stop outside the hotel and its only £3.50 for an all day ticket. There's a lovely Chinese restaurant 10min walk away(Cool Jade). Excellent weekend. « less

I booked the Capital through Clever Hotels, the booking process was smooth simple and easy.
The Edinburgh Capital is a nice hotel, only downside is the location (£12 taxi to town)
The room was spotless, the restaurant was efficient with good food (lovely steak), used the Pool/Sauna etc on both mornings, good facilities (could do with a Jacuzzi)

It does sound like you were able to enjoy all of the facilities available at The Capital. We proudly buy all of our meats from premium Perthshire butcher, Simon Howie. I would readily agree with your comment regarding the steaks!
We are equidistant from the airport and city. Our location is served by the number 26 bus which runs every 7-8 minutes during peak hours. At £1.50 per single, £3.50 for a day ticket or £3.00 for the N26 night service, it is excellent value and more often than not a similar journey time as a taxi, traffic dependant of course.

My family and I stayed at the Edinburgh capital hotel 26th - 28th April for the wedding of our good friends. We had travelled over 300 miles for the wedding, and when we arrived were made very welcome by the reception staff. The room we were given was excellent clean tidy everything you could want. The meals in the resturant were superb. The wedding day arrived everything was done really well, so if you want a wedding venue this is the place. I must say all the staff were excellent during our stay nothing was to much trouble. We plan to visit Edinburgh again soon for some sightseeing and this will be our first choice hotel.
