The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast is offered. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The pool was rather small. It was located close to Grossmont Center where many stores like Walmart, CVS, Starbucks, etc are accessible. There is also a food court for dining with many different restaurants. The location is far from downtown San Diego. If you want to take a tour to Old Town or Downtown, the taxi costs me around $50 one way. To go from airport to hotel it is economical to take Super Shuttle which costs about $35 plus tip. So it might be more economical to rent a car for which you do have parking at hotel. « less

I thought the hotel looked charming from the outside, but the rooms were outdated even though the hotel was supposed to have undergone some renovation. Hallways were kind of dark, not enough lighting, and had that "old" smell. The hotel staff was more than accomodating, they actually gave me a choice of 3 different rooms. For the price, I expected better, so I moved the next day but did not have the heart to tell them why. If you are not picky as I am, this is a good hotel.. free breakfast, just off the freeway, and centrally located. Anthony's Fish Grotto right next door. Yum! « less

We've stayed here several times while visiting family nearby. Each time we stayed we feel like we got our moneys worth. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the folks at the front desk have been very courteous and helpful. We have only eaten the breakfast here once, but it was decent. Not gourmet by any means, but there was a good selection of cold and hot foods available. Some other reviewers have mentioned the freeway noise, but that has never been a problem for us. This is just a nice little motel on the highway for staying at for a relatively affordable price. We will stay here again. « less

My family stayed here for 3 nights and had to change rooms each day to try to find a quiet room. No such thing. Who knew that after the first sleepless night due to the street traffic, our request to be moved to a quieter room would result in them moving us to a room on the highway side! Needless to say, again virtually no sleep. The next day, after we again complained, we were again moved, but only a few doors away -- to their quietest room-type (still on the highway side, but nearer the pool). Finally, at midnight, after another call to the front desk regarding the endless noise, they came to our room with a large bag of earplugs (clearly they were accustomed to noise complaints from their guests) and allowed us to take a few. They helped, but only a little. Third strike. Also, the pre-prepared breakfast choices (served in a small room) were pretty paltry and unsatisfying. « less
