We booked this hotel a few months ago, before most of the bad reviews appeared on here, and because the room was very cheap on Hotels.com.
A few days before we were due to arrive, I read the reviews again, and was expecting bad things from the hotel.
However, we were very pleasantly surprised. We arrived at about 1pm and were told that we couldn't check in until 3pm. That was fine with us as we needed to get lunch and so the front desk staff very kindly stored our bags for us. As we left, the lady on reception said to come back at 2pm, and we should be fine to check in.
Check in was fast and efficient, and we were given a room upstairs. However, as we had a lot of bags to carry, they changed us to a downstairs room, which I thought was very thoughtful.
We had a superior king room, which exceeded our expectations. The bathroom was clean, there were plenty of towels and washcloths, the bed was clean and the lights, fridge and tv were all in good working order.
What made it for us though, was the shuttle service downtown. If you don't have a car, this hotel is a little out of the way for travellers and tourists, but we were advised that the shuttle would take us in to town for $5 per person each way. If you have a large group, a taxi would probably be cheaper, but as it was just two of us, this was perfect! We called them a few hours later to pick us up, and they came right away.
I really have no complaints about this hotel. The location isn't great, but you should know that when booking, as it is right by the highway. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and secure, and the shuttle was an extra bonus. For the price we paid, I think we got a really good deal.
I can only assume from the reviews regarding rats and roaches, that some areas of the hotel are worse than others. We stayed in room 107, which is on the ground floor and right next to the reception. Perhaps request a room in this section if you are concerned. « less

We did not expect much as the rate was low however the room itself is in need of a few updates. Just a decent mattress and some clean unstained carpeting would have been fine. There was no remote upon arrival but the man on duty was quick in bringing it to us. Half of the lamps would not turn on but we were too tired to call to have this fixed. Breakfast was toast and milk. The location was convenient for us which is why we booked. If you stay here then realize that you will get what you pay for. « less

We stayed there March 13-18 2013 this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed it.... OMG first our non smoking room was so smelly of cigarets the younger male at the front desk walked in the room and went straight to the window to open it... The older Male front desk man heard them complaining about the door and just yelled at them F--K you just to do it.... The next day the What a burger they left on the table was full of ROACHES..... They called the front desk and were moved from that room..... The area is bad..... DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL... NASTY! « less

Stayed for one night which was more than enough. Roaches, One of the lights did not have a shade, looked like they did not vacuum the rug in a few days and the fixtures were broken. Neighborhood is a little seedy only positive is it was close to downtown and the front desk folks were nice.. « less

Me & a couple of my friends came to stay at this hotel for spring break, we stayed 2 nights. We left the second day we were here to go to Sea World, when we got back room service had cane to our room & made our bed. When we were getting ready to leave the last day, I was packing my things & noticed some of my clothes were missing. We reported this to the front desk & they took NO action to find the clothes or to question our maid. They told me they had to "investigate" the case & that they would give me a call when it was settled. We live 4 hours away & after I told them this they basically told me there was nothing they could do. They are very rude people & I do not recommend ANYONE to stay here. Very trashy place. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Thanks Kevin! Your site was a huge success for me and I will definitely use it again. We ended up booking a total of 44 rooms, with different checking-in check-out days, times, people, etc., and Steve has been awesome to work with. Also, Steve is making special arrangements for an "after hours" tradition.I need to make group reservations at least twice a year and I now have a website that makes that a whole lot easier!" "I can't say enough about your event planning service. You have a client for life. We will definitely use you next year for our annual 46th reunion in 2010. We don't know where the destination will be as of this writing, but we know who will be our planner! Thank you so much again for your excellent and professional service. I would be happy to fill out any type of evaluation or recommendation of your service. Just let me know." D.S. - Orlando, FL
