My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a full 7 nights on our honeymoon. We were very impressed! Very cute, very clean, and very nice staff!
We were very kindly upgraded to their biggest room because we had a lot of trouble with the wifi in our room. We didn't even have to ask, they just offered! I thought that was very nice. They also left a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates in our room for our honeymoon, which was a sweet touch.
The first room we were in was good. The bathroom was a little small, but definitely not unmanageable! I expect to find smaller rooms when I'm staying in a hotel in a big city, that's so central. The second room was fabulous, it had 2 bathrooms! One of them was huge! The second was a powder room, but very convenient to have.
The rooms were cleaned every morning so early, which was fantastic. The free breakfast is a nice touch, although by the 7th day we were a little bored of the grey hard-boiled eggs! I saw pictures of when this hotel was a Best Western, and they had a waffle maker! I wish we'd had that when we were there! Some more fruit, or fresher pastries might jazz this up enough to consider it a decent free breakfast. But honestly, it was free, so I shouldn't complain!
Nice walk to the beach from this hotel. Very helpful staff when we inquired about directions. The front desk staff is extremely good.
All in all, I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel, and stay there again. Loved it! It's got to be the best value for your money, in Waikiki. « less

Nice hotel, easy walk to downtown, small room. Booked room when was Best Western but changed to Joie de Vivre - they didn't notify us ahead of time. Our group of 6 had a redeye flight the next day and prearranged a comp room so we could shower late afternoon before going to airport. Joie de Vivre honored the committment. Would recommend this hotel. « less

It is not most gorgeous hotel that sit in patio or terrace to enjoy ocean view but if you want to go beach, people are walking there from this hotel and you can save $$$. We stayed here from 7th to 14th April. It was ideal for what we wanted for our trip to Honolulu. Very clean with good maid service of the room. Bathroom was a little small but more than adequate and lots of hot water. Clean towels everyday. Air con was good and not noisy. Bed very comfortable. All staf very friendly and helpful. Free beach towels were a bonus. Breakfast was good just don't expect a full English! The lady works very well replenishing it and keeping the area clean. The coffee available 24 hours was also a bonus as were the free computers, internet and printers in the lobby area. Location was perfect. We stayed for my 50th birthday and the bottle of champagne and card left in the room was a very nice surprise. Thank you very much to all the staff at the Coconut Waikiki for making this a stay and birthday to remember.
