I stayed here for one night when I was in Houston for business. Upon my arrival I was greeted fairly promptly and politely. I was disappointed when I found the only parking option is valet for $25 per night, but the hotel is downtown so it's kind of to be expected.
When I got to my room I was really surprised with the bathroom. It was HUGE with two sinks, a separate toilet room, and a nice size tub. My favorite was the Aveda products. The towels were large and thick and there was a robe included in the room.
I met some friends and colleagues in the bar for drinks and it was a nice place to hang out. The service was good and the drinks were excellent.
After that I went to my room and ordered room service. It was prompt and the food was good. They got my order just right. The Internet was free and fast and the desk had enough room to eat and surf the net at the same time.
Sleeping was nice -- the linens were good and the bed was very comfortable. There were wooden blinds instead of the usual curtains. The two in the middle were a little hard to reach for a sort of short person like me, but it was OK. It was quiet in the room and I couldn't hear anyone outside or in the rooms next door, so I was able to get a good night's sleep. My wake up call was right on time the next morning.
I had room service again for breakfast and once again the food was good and the service right on time as I had ordered.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I am back in Houston. Everything about my experience there was nice. « less

Enjoyed a nice stay here. The decor was interesting with a very clear baseball theme and the lounge area with comfy sofas, raised glass ceilings and faux trees offered a comfortable and classy setting to hang out and talk shop. Service was excellent and a minor booking error was easily and quickly corrected. Truly a classy spot and I would be glad to return any time! « less

The room, the bed, the linens, the bathroom, the robe, all were excellent. Didn't spend any time at the bar or any other public space. They run a shuttle to attractions in the downtown area. Nice, polite shuttle driver, but he should have started at 5pm yet he only got going around 5:20.
The parking is valet only and expensive by Houston standards---about $25 overnight, if I remember correctly. « less

I had a very nice stay while at a training recently in Houston. The room was large and comfortable, not to mention very quiet. I arrived late evening on a Sunday and had a very good Tuscan Salmon for dinner in the lobby open bar/restaurant. The food here was excellent at the bar, from room service, and with the catering for the training all week. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel! « less

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at the Ballpark slightly by accident. We needed a place to stay in Houston overnight to avoid a 2 hour drive to the airport for a very early flight the next morning. I am not a sports fan, but even I could appreciate the traditions of baseball that surround you in this hotel. It is most certainly a themed hotel, as it is located right across the street from Minute Maid park, but the accommodations are so nice that you would choose this hotel no matter why you are in Downtown Houston. We stayed in a regular room, and not a suite, but we asked for a corner room. (Corner rooms tend to be larger in 90% of hotels). The room had vaulted ceilings, windows on two sides, hard wood floors, plantation blinds and blackout shades, marble bathroom, and believe it or not...a ceiling fan! I normally think the air wont work if I see a ceiling fan in a hotel, but I assure you the air worked just fine and the fan really added to the decor here. We ate dinner across the steak at Vic and Anthony Steak House, so I can't tell you anything about the room service. The lobby bar however is a beautiful, well stocked, and highly serviced area to stop for a night cap on your way to bed. The stay was brief but so nice, we may just get tickets to a game and come back with the boys for a weekend. « less
