My wife and I stayed at the Landmark 05/12 - 05/14 and were pleasantly surprised. It was our 6th time visiting MB but the first time we stayed here. When I made the reservations, and strictly due to my not being fond of heights, we requested an Oceanfront Deluxe King suite on the lower floors. When we checked in we found out that our request was not forwarded to the front desk staff and the only suite available was on the 10th Floor. They did everything possible to switch us to another room but there were none available. We appreciated the effort. When we got to our room we were blown away. There was a very comfortable King Bed that was probably brand new. The kitchen was full sized with granite countertops and a full size refrigerator. There are also 1-1/2 bathrooms. It was very much worth the money spent. Now onto the resort amenities. There are roughly 17 pools and spas including a lazy river pool. There is also a 9-hole mini-golf course. I don't know how many restaurants and bars there are there, but they were open until midnite, and room service is available for breakfast. Parking is directly across the street from the hotel, and is rather tight, but it is covered and there is a walkway that goes from the garage to the main building. Also there is an exercise room, game room, a business center, and conference center. Just a word to the wise, the units are all privately owned, and a $100 deposit is required at the time of check-in. However, it is refunded to you at check-out after a brief housekeeping inspection. Also call the front desk directly to make reservations instead of calling the toll-free reservations service. If you have children this is the place to be. We were very pleased with our stay and look forward to our next visit. « less

After reading some reviews I was a little hesitant about staying here but me and my fiance were very pleased. The room was clean and smelled fresh, housekeeping cleaned well and stocked towels, front desk was polite, and it was a great location. The pool and lazy river was nice. We will definitely be returning soon. « less

Enjoyed our stay - Everyone was very friendly and we were asked numerous times if we had everything we needed. Staff we met in the elevators or in passing always asked if we were having a good time and if they could get us anything. Rooms very clean and kitchen was very nice. We had a Ocean view suite and enjoyed having 2 bathrooms. Loved the walkover tunnel to parking garage, much easier than fighting traffic. Plan on a return trip. « less

I love the Landmark Resort! everything was great, it was a ladies trip so we had 2 rooms... beds/linen were clean~thats a plus.. bathroom was very clean,,, just what what we needed. There is only one thing I didnt like is the cost of the breakfast bar which is $11 and u only have 1 option for meat...i think thats a lil too much! the staff were extra nice and helpful especially the lady that worked 3rd shift Saturday night, cant remember her name but she was a blonde lady, she was extra helpful when it came to me finding somewhere close to park instead of going in parking deck!!! Kudos to the landmark...we will most definitely be back in a couple months « less

We booked this hotel online, through the hotels website. We were in the beach for graduation weekend from Coastal Carolina. When you arrive at the hotel, there is short term parking in front of the entrance, but it is extremely limited. Once checked in, you park in the hotel garage. This garage is a bit tight, and occasionally scary. A lot of people driving in it seem to forget it is two-way traffic in tight turns. If you park on level 3B, you will be on the level with the walkway over the road. This is a nice touch for the hotel, as traffic on the main street can be crazy. When we arrived in our room, I could tell it was one that had recently been remodeled. It's nothing fancy, but it is comfortable. I noticed upon further inspection that there are no clotheslines in the bathroom as you would normally see in a beach hotel to hang you wet items from, so we had to hang them on the shower rod. The restroom was decently sized, however, there are no fans in the bathroom. This is problematic since it is already pretty humid on the beach. In the room, I went to adjust the air down, and realized that the A/C unit would not set below 70 degrees. I like to keep my sleeping space between 68-69, so this was a disappointment. My parents, who were staying at the hotel, had a newer unit that did not have this problem. However, in their room, the phone didn't work. When they called the front desk from their cell phone to have it fixed, the lady said she would send someone right up. My parents said they were going to bed (it was 10pm, and we had to be up early,) she said ok, and apparently forgot about it, because it was never fixed. My parents then asked her how the alarm clock worked, and she told them she didn't know but could schedule a wake up call. Apparently, she forgot that my parents told her 10 seconds before that the phone wasn't working. Also, the door to my parents room would not close all the way without being pulled. This is a security issue in my opinion. We went down to the indoor pools, and were mostly pleased. None of the fountains were operating, which was sad, because it took away from the aesthetic of it. There were many employees checking wrist bands Friday night, which was nice. On Saturday however, there wasn't an employee in sight. When no one is around to babysit the grown ups, shenanigans will ensue. There were people with open beer cans in the lazy river, and people smoking in one of the hot tubs, standing under a "no smoking" sign. While no one should have to police adults, apparently someone needed to. The indoor pool was chilly, but mostly bearable. The lazy river was quite warm, and would have been nicer if the responsible adults were better at policing their children. The hot tub was quite hot Friday night, but tolerable. It was the most pleasant Saturday afternoon. However, Saturday night, it was a very scalding temperature. It was unusable for most mortals. We went to another hot tub, that was maybe a degree or two cooler, but still barely usable. Again, no employees to be found to address this with. We did not use the outdoor pools or the water park, but they seemed very nice and clean, as were the indoor pools. The rooms at night were mostly tolerable. Our room had a lamp between the two beds that had outlets attached, so you didn't have to search endlessly for a place to charge your cell phone or other devices. I found this to be a nice touch. The door let in quite a bit of light around all 4 sides, but the rooms were very quiet and well insulated. I noticed this when going to my room, I realized there was a screaming child in the room next to mine (I could hear from the hallway.) When I got inside my room, there was no sound from the child at all. I definitely sighed in relief. The mattresses were comfy, and probably new. The pillows however were terrible. My sister and I ate lunch at Latitude, the restaurant/bar inside of the hotel. The prices were reasonable (comparable to Applebees or Ruby Tuesday's) and the food was really delicious. We had drinks there that night, and again, reasonable prices. All of the staff we encountered, from the desk to the housekeeping, maintenance to restaurant staff, were all very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. « less
