Attended the ACBL Spring National Tournament hosted by the hotel and the America's Center. The room, a double, was very clean and comfortable. The refrigerator was a plus, there is a great city grocery store 2 blocks away. We enjoyed our 10 night stay and found the service to be excellent. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was excellent, although expensive. I would stay here again. « less

I stayed May 9-13 2013. The hotel is aged and needs a good makeover or upgrade. At least a good paint job. This being said the people were very friendly and the service was good. The room was roomy. The mattress was old and very soft. Too soft. Not enough support. I think it may have been old and worn out. But you get what you pay for, and I got a good deal. So in that case it was acceptable. « less

The hotel was fine, in that nothing was horrible, and nothing was great.
My room wasn't ready when I checked in (bad), the front desk forced a free drink coupon in my hand (good), except I don't drink.
The room was pretty small (bad), but the bed was really comfortable (good).
The television was old, but the bathroom was nice. The food in the lounge was great, but they ran out.
I wouldn't rule out another stay here, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. « less

Stayed two nights for a business meeting. On 6th floor with a view of the convention centre. Our meeting was at the Americas which is a quick walk across the street. Updated room, large bathroom with Aveda amenities. Super comfortable beds. Hotel is very quiet. Reception desk extremely helpful as well as concierge. Nice size fitness centre with good equipment. Hotel is 100% non-smoking. My complaint is that the fans in the room are extremely loud and I turned it off and the TV is the old tube. And the rooms are not wireless. The lobby area is. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I ate at Mosaic a fusion tapas style. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Seemed safe to walk around this area but very quiet late at night. Not much shopping nearby. I took a taxi to St. Louis Galleria mall cost $25 each way. « less

I have to admit, we were VERY skeptical about booking this hotel after reading some of these reviews. We decided to give it a go, and we're very happy we did.
Upon arrival, self-park is slightly confusing (but workable!) with it's various levels and directions - figured it out soon enough! The front desk ladies were great, all of them. They comped our parking when we misplaced our parking ticket and worked efficiently. Our room was HUGE, with an extremely comfortable King size bed on the 21st floor. A giant window facing the Gateway Arch. The room was slightly warm but not unbearable (even with the temp. all the way down). The lotions, soaps and small spa packets were appreciated. The bathroom fixtures were in great condition. Plenty of seating (couch, desk w/chair, loveseat & King bed) in our room. Couldn't hear any other guests through the wall and enjoyed a great night's sleep.
Checkout was a breeze and the location of the hotel was smack dab in the middle of everything.
Don't let these reviews scare you from trying something other people have complained about - you might be surprised!
We would recommend this property. We stayed for one night to attend a wedding. « less
