Central Park Hotel is placed in a convenient position in Modena city center between avenues of access to the city and the pedestrian zone. It has 44 rooms two suites and one exclusive suite all equipped with modern technologies (WI-FI, TV LCD, Free satellite TV,) and amenities (minibar, bath set, air conditioning). After renewal in 2008 it a smoke free hotel with wide hall with bar, satellite TV, and foreign press, a free Internet point room and a meeting room. Wi-Fi system covers the whole hotel. Easy to reach through Via Emilia or Modena Nord A1 motorway exit following city center indications (10 min). The hotel is at only 800 mt from the railway station and 200 mt from the bus station.

As has been mentioned in other reviews, one of the great attraction of the Central Park Hotel is its location, not quite in the heart of Modena but very close to the city gates, certainly with walking distance. The hotel itself is clean and modern, the rooms are a little on the small side, particularly the bathrooms but for short stays it is acceptable. The breakfast was always good although on the first morning we had a bit of a run-in with the manager/waiter because we arrived with five minutes to spare before he closed down and he was a bit upset when we asked for some bread. A bit of a sticky moment but he then went off and with good grace presented us with some bread a little later. I thought car parking was going to be an issue but you can park for free in the blue zones, provided you have a note supplied by the hotel, or failing that, you can leave the car with the hotel staff, all of whom were very pleasant, who will park it on their limited space forecourt.
All in all, a comfortable and quiet hotel that is very conveniently located. « less

What a disappointment. My husband and I spent a night here at the end of the December while touring Emilia Romagna. We decided to go for a four star hotel thinking it would be a treat, but it just made us feel silly for not going for one of the many nice three-star hotels around town.
Our room was very small, with bizarre gray walls that made it look like a bunker. In the bathroom, the shower door wasn’t flush with the floor so that flooding ensued as soon as one turned on the tap. The heating was set at an insane 27 C and the buttons on the control panel were badly damaged (a sign of previous guests desperately trying to escape death by overheating?). The minibar, stuffed with wafers, peanuts, pop and beer, was turned off. Our pillowcases had holes in them.
We had the distinct feeling that we were the only guests. We never saw anyone else during our stay and a doorman we’d never met before greeted us by name when we came back to the hotel in the evening after being out all day. Still, this didn’t prevent one of the staff serving breakfast the next day from wondering out loud about what on earth we might possibly think we’d do in Modena on December, 30 (he probably thought we wouldn't understand because my husband is Canadian and we always speak in English, he didn't know I'm a Milan native).
That said, the rooms were clean, the receptionist friendly and helpful, and breakfast generous. But is that really worth nearly $200 a night? « less

Friendly people at the reception, and for most of them, with good knowledge of english. So if you don't speak Italian, you still manage. Same is true for the staff supporting the breakfast, also they speak English. The breakfast is very good, with - as is typical for Italy - lots of sweet things as well. The Cappucino is excellent !
The rooms are nice and very clean. The bathroom is clean too, but the shower is a little small. Also the area around the sink is very smal limited. No space to put anything, so you need to put behind you.
If you have a car, they provide you a card to put in the car... with that you can park in the blue spots for free (otherwise you need to pay).

Walking distance to downtown, stores, restaurants, near by all in Modena. The hotel was great, excellent breakfast , cakes, bread, capuchinos for free better than starbucks....impecable service , this is a 4 stars hotel, the best to stay in Modena, you will enjoy your stay with great staff, great location and excellent food. Many palces to go walking distance, you will be in the heart of the city. No car needed. If I come back to modena i only will stay here, my favorite hotel by far, no one near by or far by is like this one. I research for few weeks and pick this one and had a happy stay! « less
