The GASLAMP PLAZA SUITES is an historical building built in 1913. Originally built as San Diego's first "skyscraper" - 11 stories of marble, brass, mosaic tile and Australian gumwood.
In 1988 GASLAMP PLAZA SUITES opened as "suite hotel", exuding the quiet elegance befitting a historic structure of its stature The original architectural aspects are still evident such as original marble on walls and stair ways, coiffured ceilings, brass elevator doors and Australian gumwood carpentry around the etched glass windows and doors. All are preserved meticulously in keeping with our status of being listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
All our GUEST ROOMS are non smoking and are equipped with microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, dinner and silver ware, in-room safe, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. All mini suites and one bedroom suites are furnished with a queen size bed and a sofa sleeper. The mini suite has a sitting room and bedroom area in the same room. Our one bedroom suites have a separate bedroom and separate living room. The majority of the units have either a Downtown or harbor view.
We serve a complimentary continental breakfast on our rooftop overlooking beautiful San Diego. The rooftop is open for our guests enjoyment between the hours of 7:00 am - 11:00 pm.
We offer a BOARD MEETING ROOM suitable for up to 15 people with executive leather chairs surrounding a large oval wooden table. AV equipment can either be rented or brought in by the guest.
