Holiday Inn Near Garibaldi station. I have read other reviews and agree, a bit misleading as the hotel is a walk from the station, 10 to 15 minutes and a bit confusing, glad my daughter knew her way around. With luggage and for someone not able to carry luggage up stairs, take a taxi. We did find a unpublished route where you limit the walk by navigating your way through the station, difficult to explain, but explore a bit for a better route. That is my only caution to the hotel, otherwise very satisfied.
Check in was easy, and as in most Holiday Inns their loyalty program has the benefits, we were able to basically choose our room. I was with my daughter and so opted for the Ladies Room. Average size room for Milan, but nice extras I guess a woman enjoys, I think the superior rooms would offer more space, but again the real perk was the fact we decided. Platinum status also meant free wifi throughout our stay in the room, good speed and no troubles. The room was clean, beds comfortable, mini fridge, and the windows opened up to the cool mornings.
We didn't eat at the hotel, although the bar was nice with free nibbles. The immediate surrounding area was limited on restaurants, and most close early by 8:00pm. However you are a 10-15 minute walk to many more choices.
Overall a great stay at the hotel and Milan, most city sites are a quick metro ride away, and I would highly recommend this property. The staff also spoke enough English, to make it easy. « less

My husband and I stayed here during winter, for starters we asked for a double bed but was given 2 single bed. The staff were not that friendly at all, maybe because we were asian. The walk from garibaldi station to the hotel was 20mins and it's kind of dodgy. Will not stay here again. « less

The Holiday Inn is located close to Garibaldi station and 10 to 15 minutes driving distance from Milan central station. Tram station is close by and one can easily get to city center and other parts of city. The hotel rooms are rather small. Cleanliness was not of good standard. We stayed there for four nights and room linen was not changed daily. The WiFi was free within the hotel premises. The breakfast was good.Overall the hotel was rather expensive and not very good value for money. « less

My check in experience was ok as the front desk gentleman Felix was very friendly and helpful. My bad experience begin when I receive my ticket for football game where a hotel staff Roby helped me to purchase. I was very happy when I was told that the hotel can help me buy the tickets for the match I've been trying to buy for almost 2weeks. I was told due to limited tickets, the cheapest ticket he can get for me will cost 150euro. Thinking that it could be one of the best seats in the stadium I bought 2 tickets. The following morning when I receive the tickets for the game I paid 300euro for, it turn out that the ticket is only 30euro each as stated on the ticket itself. I confronted Roby about this but he claimed that his men has to go through a lot to get me the tickets. I said you could have told me earlier instead of giving me such surprise but he said i should have asked for a bargain before and not now. Clearly he and his agent made a cut out of those tickets but from 30euro to 150euro is ridiculous thinking you can trust the hotel staff. At least if they would have told me earlier regarding this I wouldn't have bought it or think twice. This is my first experience being cheated by a hotel staff for money.
Also I was charged extra for my room and during my checkout I was told that the refund will be made directly to my credit card. Up till today I have not received my refund. I called the hotel directly but was put off immediately. I understand that my call wasn't the best timing since I live in different time zone but when the staff answered my call he asked me 'what do I want!!!'. I'm pretty sure I'm speaking to Roby as I can recognise his voice. I explained to him regarding the refund but he just told me its 3am here in the morning call back tomorrow. I then asked who am I speaking to to confirm he is Roby and hope he remembers me and will help me out. He kept quiet for awhile and pretend he didn't hear me correctly. I'm pretty upset then and asked him a couple of times is this how holiday inn speak to their guest. To my surprise he slammed down the phone.
I wrote to holiday inn garibaldi about this a couple of time and its been weeks and I have not received any response nor my refund. With these kind of service I don't think this hotel even deserve to be classified as motel moreover a hotel. « less

As I've confirmed you through our guest relation service, I've already provided to ask the credit card company to refund you the amount you overpaid. and you should receive it within few days.
