We have previously stayed at this hotel and found it to be reasonable in terms of value for money. Neat and clean. Whilst their was a bit of noise in the early morning hours, it can also be attributed to the fact that the hotel was quite full at the time. We were accomodated with room service and food at 1am in the morning which was a nice ending touch. Hotel also provides shuttle service to waterfront which is usefull when wanting to get around. « less

Stayed here for one night with a friend and two young girls. My first reaction on arrival was the location, been from Cape Town, the area is not the best, not a place to go for a walk and not much around, the security around the hotel tells the story. The hotel it self is very old and in need of a update, the room itself also needs some updating, showers were old and not great, the kitchen area was good but the area with the table and chairs is way too small, two chairs with a tv on the wall was very inadequate for a 3 bedroom apartment, all the rooms had single beds, some with duvets and some with only blankets, no hangers in two rooms, one room had not mirrors, no chair at vanity area. The outside balcony was dirty, the table and chairs even dirtier. When we arrived, after 4pm, we were told that our room had no of the beds made up(linen not returned to hotel) and although it did not take too long to get them made up, it did not make a good first impression. Our apartment was near the bar and was very noisy, the bar has a entrance from the main road outside, so it was noisy, bytheway the road the hotel is situated on is very busy and traffic noise can be heard 24/7. Definitely ask for a quiet room, i requested one but did not get one. Parking although on the premises, was very difficult to get in and out, parking bays too small and not thought out and there is not much place to move when trying to get in or out of a parking bay. Although there is security at the entrance, i got the impression anybody is let in as we were not asked for any identification when arriving and returning from been out. This hotel would be ok for a quick one night in and out of the city but i will not return.Even though the rate was great, i would pay extra for a better area and hotel. Now for the highlight of the stay, breakfast, it was good, the staff in the dining room was great and helpful. One question that we wanted to ask but did not get around to it, is there residents who stay permanently at the hotel, it seems that way, one room(apartment) had ornaments etc in the windows, not something you see at a hotel??? « less

We stayed here in the first week of April and had an enjoyable stay overall. First, the hotel was very secure! To get in and out there are gates and then the entire property is surrounded by a fence that is electrified at the top. This is not because of the neighborhood but is what every property in Cape Town has around it. The service at the hotel was great. It was definitely four star service and I would rate the hotel four stars if we were just talking about service. The thing that makes it three star is the facility itself. The two things that stood out was that there were some bugs in the kitchen area when we turned on the lights (probably cockroaches) and the room was kinda dirty. We noticed because our baby was crawling around and her hands and socks got dirty. But we just got around it by putting all the food in the fridge. Other than that there isn't any other one thing that stood out as making the facility three star but it just was. I think the facility was built in the 70s or something and they are just working on maintaining it. This hotel is in a perfect central location to be able to get to all of the tourist spots quickly! The museums downtown are in walking distance (and we were traveling with a ten month old).
The breakfast was included and was enjoyable. The service at breakfast was nice. The hotel had some kind of shuttle but apparently it was broken down at the time. We had rented a car so we didn't need it. I would highly recommend renting a car in Cape Town because parking is only $1 everywhere! haha « less

We always stay in this hotel when we visit Cape Town. For the price you pay and what you get it is really fantastic. Its clean. Its big. There's swimming pools for when its hot and nice views of the mountain. The buffet breakfast is really good with something for everyone. It's in the city center so its close to everything that counts. I mean the city center is the best. « less
