Stayed at Embassy Suites twice now in North Austin. Hotel is worn but ok. Furniture is in good shape - bed is not the typical Hilton bed - it's a cheaper bed with a pillow mattress cove on top of the mattress - ok but a little cheesy. Managers reception had good drinks but only chips for snacks - ok I guess. Breakfast was good but long line - I really don't know why they wouldn't put out scramble eggs and bacon buffet style rathe than forcing guests to ensure long lines....free parking is a plus. Land and Cattle Company across the street (easy walk) has great food. Overall I would rate this property 6+ out of 10.

I stayed here with ten friends across three rooms for my brother's bachelor party and as the title suggests, the hotel was just what we needed - namely, a place to sleep and eat breakfast. Other than that, it's a standard Embassy Suites, nothing fancy about it. The rooms were in good shape, but there were small stains on nearly all the living room furniture, and even some on the bedspreads. The bathroom in each room was a bit small, given that up to six people could share the room; there are, however, three sinks in each room, alleviating it somewhat when trying to get folks ready. The cooked-to-order breakfast is good; quite quick service given the lines. One note - the hotel's advertised 'shuttle' is actually a five-seat Ford Explorer, so not very useful if you're looking for something with a larger group. Overall, you know what you're getting at an Embassy Suites, and this particular one falls right in line. « less

Stayed there for a week, and enjoyed the place immensely. Breakfast was delicious (pancakes, bacon, biscuits & gravy, omelettes, etc), and even with the place full of athletes for state playoffs, I did not have to very long in line. Evening receptions are fine...simple snack food and drinks (chips & salsa). The rooms were nice, too.
The pool was awesome and WARM. It was in the forties outside while I was there, but the pool was nice.
I tried the restaurant a couple of times for room service, and although the service was good, the food wasn't the best. Not bad, but you could find better stuff at the steak house next door. « less

My family has used this hotel a couple of times when we have had weddings at a nearby venue. I'm fond of the mock-Spanish look, with the bridge and koi pond in the middle of the atrium and the bar, also in the center, is a good gathering spot. It's not fancy but it's kind of charming in its own way. I love the rooms--good beds and spacious, with the front living room suites. Not much of a kitchen area--nothing like some extended business traveler chains--but useful for short stays.
However, the administration of this place leaves a lot to be desired. It literally took months to book a block of rooms here because the reservations agent would not call back--if you are determined to book a lot of rooms here, start your attempts very early! Also, the front desk did not follow instructions when handing out gift bags to wedding guests...a lot of people missed out, and we still don't know what happened to all of the extra bags.
The location is not glamorous...it's right off of a major freeway interchange and a drive from downtown or anywhere else you would want to go, but it's a short drive. « less
