This is a beautiful resort. Guest services were great, food delicious...especially at the pool! Casino of course smoky (not heavy smoke...I am a non smoker and any smoke smell is going to be strong) We did gamble some anyways. Restaurants looked fabulous. Got great reviews from other people that did go. The pool has a beach-sand area. Kids loved it. There is a 21+ pool near the beautiful large pool. Drinks were fabulous. Rooms were beautiful. overall- excellent. Shuttle to and from airport was super! « less

Was in Vegas to babysit our granddaughter while parents were at a conference at GVR. Not a gambler so I can't write a review of the casino although it appeared clean - might have a problem with it if you are not a smoker. The room I stayed in - king deluxe in west tower - was spacious; however, the bathroom had major issues, which were shared with housekeeping but not addressed by the hotel. The toilet did not flush completely, the facets in the but leaked and water ran all over the floor and would have created a slippery fall issue had it not been mopped up with towels and the shower held water up to your ankles - my daughter had the same standing water issue in her room. There was no coffee pot, microwave and the fridge was for the mini bar only - so no room to keep anything for a toddler. The bed was comfortable and there are a number of places to eat. The pool area was nice and the grounds were well maintained. Appears the outside is more important than the inside. Make sure that if you have an early flight and need a bellhop you ask the night before. They don't plan for this. « less

Bert Cirincione runs the best race & sports book in Las Vegas. The race book is comfortable and set up perfectly for race playing and sports betting. The GVR team are professionals that really cater to the race/sports fans. This is one of the only places in Las Vegas where you feel respected as a horseplayer. Bert pays personal attention to all patrons and always remembers you. We hadn't seen Bert for almost a year and he took good care of our crew during the Derby. The GVR is a beautiful and relaxing hotel casino - first class. The restaurants are also outstanding. The GVR gets a big thumbs up! « less

It's a pretty nicely maintained hotel, although it could do with an update. I had requested a nonsmoking room with queen beds, but apparently the fine print on the website contains some weasel words that they can assign you whatever room they feel like on the day that you arrive. So upon arrival I was given the choice between a smoking room or pay a lot extra for a king suite with a rollaway single bed. So rather than spending the night in comfort I ended up paying a bunch of extra money for the honor to sleep in a rollaway single bed with inferior linens covered in hair. Vegas has a reputation for sleaze, but this place goes a step beyond that. « less

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. I actually chipped a tooth while eating breakfast at the Grand Cafe. I even had a colleague who heard the crunch of my tooth. I thought that it would be a simple resolution and they would take responsibility and help with the dental bills. Was I wrong. They sent me through their insurance adjusters who 3 months later denied any responsibility for the claim, even with the eye witness report. I was very disappointed with their service and processes. So be careful. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"I sincerely appreciate your outstanding service. Before I contacted your organization, I was about to give up on Reno as a host site for our reunion. You really saved me a lot of time, money and effort. You provide a truly great service." G.P. - Sacramento, CA
"Everything worked out great. We are at the end of our season, but I will definitely use you in the future for my travels needs for 2007. The rates you gave were very competitive--better than ones that I get online or over the phone." V.V. - Blacksburg, VA
