From the moment I arrived to the time i pulled the car out of parking garage, the service was excellent, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Sara in the Group Reservation department; Perry, the concierge, went above and beyond in getting us in contact with restaurants and transportation for our return trip in August. For ANY future trip to the New Orleans area, we will most definitely be staying at the Hampton Inns & Suites New Orleans - Convention Center. « less

We decided to get a room the night before we were heading out on a cruise. Unfortunately, Jazz Fest was going on the weekend we were there and all of my go to places in New Orleans were a 3 night minimum. I picked this place not because of the location or price but because it was the ONLY hotel I could find near the quarter that wasn't charging that ridiculous 3 night min. I will definitely stay here again! Our room was HUGE and the staff was absolutely fantastic! For people that would like a nice place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the Quarter, this is the perfect place. Steps away from the river and literally right around the corner from the carnival ship terminal. Mardi Gras world is near by as well. May want to take a taxi to the Quarter but only 8 blocks away for the people that don't mind the walk. « less

I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars but that's not an option. This property has two towers the new and old, we were in the old. The newly renovated side was very nice! Clean and spacious, very charming. The older side in which I stayed was the average Hampton Inn room that smelled musty. I would ask to stay in the new tower. Pro: -- Breakfast was delicious. Not the typical continental. It was great way to start the day. -- The lobby and bar area was very nice. Remodeled/renovated, spacious, and clean. -- Exercise room was renovated as well. Enough equipment -- Easy access to convention center, right across the street! -- Walking distance to French quarter, Casino, and other restaurants -- Great customer service, everyone was so nice and kind
Cons: -- Old tower is old... lol Room had a mildew like smell that did not go away with heat or air. -- Pool was small, but area around it was nice -- I think our cleaning lady was getting trained
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would stay again... But ask for the newer tower next time! « less

Staff was friendly & helpful, decor was warm & inviting & breakfast was ample. I would stay again & would recommend this hotel. « less

Overall the hotel is clean and friendly. We had problems with our reservation length of stay two times while there and had to make front desk trips to clear problem up. Hotel is far too pricey for a continental breakfast when you have to pay an additional $33.00 to park per day because you are told at the front desk your car would be damaged on the streets. And that is if you could find street parking to begin with. « less
