Hotel was very clean and the staff that we dealt with were very professional. Our room was a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull-out in the living room. The beds were pretty good; but the pull-out was very uncomfortable. 2 different people in our party slept on the pull-out on 2 different nights and both of them said there were "lumps" poking into your body no matter which way you slept. The traffic on the main road was always busy; so that made turning off or onto the side road to the hotel very hard. The breakfast was pretty nice. We did not try any of the other amenities as we were gone to Disney most of the time. We would stay here again, but bring our own blow up travel bed. « less

We just got back from a fantastic fortnight in Orlando and couldn't fault this hotel. We're a family of 5 but didn't want to stay in a villa so spent a long time before hand searching for the perfect compromise... This was the perfect choice and didn't disappoint.
Firstly, the suites are spacious enough for 5. My teenage son slept on the sofa bed in the living area which he found comfortable (he can be fussy) and he loved having his own TV to watch on a night. My husband, daughters and I shared the main bedroom -very comfortable beds and enough space for all our stuff. Another TV for late night Disney channel to wind down! I loved that the bathroom had 2 parts to it which allowed for a quicker shower routine (ie, one child could be drying off in one part, whilst the next child was showering in the other part!) The kitchen had plenty cupboard space, microwave, hobs, dishwasher, kettle. We asked for an extra dining chair on our way out the second day, and came back to find one had been placed at the end of the table. House keeping is excellent. They do a quick clean (make beds, change towels etc) every day, then a bigger clean and change sheets every 3 days. We always found the room immaculate with fresh towels and plenty soap, shower gel etc. The bedroom part was quiet and I slept really well but my son, in the living area, did complain of noisy neighbours a couple of times.
A big advantage of the hotel is the free breakfast which we really appreciated as it set us up for the day. There was always a choice of eggs (omlette, fried or scrambled), meat (sausage, bacon or ham), cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels/ waffles/ donuts/ toast/ muffins... Tea, coffee, juice, milk. The breakfast room was busier on weekends but food replenished quickly and efficiently. Any spills cleaned up immediately too. We never had a problem finding a table and the children loved being able to help themselves to cereal and bagels while we watched the news on the big TV screens. Very relaxed way to start the day. Also appreciated the happy hour (5.30 -7.30) when we were back at the hotel in time. Every day there were free sodas and snacks (nachos, pretzels...) and on Wednesdays there were hotdogs and chilli. We would eat this at a table over looking the pool and the children would often swim until 9 or 10pm. The pool was warm and towels were provided. While the pool itself was never busy, we did find some inconsiderate guests who would hog the hot tub for far longer than the recommended 15 minutes, and even sit in it eating pizza and drinking beer which I did find annoying.
However, despite that niggle, the general feel of the Hawthorn was friendly, relaxed, comfortable and safe. The area is, in my opinion, far nicer than the Kissimmee side of Orlando. It took us less than an hour to the Kennedy space center. It was really close to everything -Universal and Sea World 5 minutes by car, Disney maybe half an hour, yet really calm and peaceful. We had a hire car but would have taken advantage of the free shuttle if the hours had been a bit less restricting. It would be possible to stay at the hotel without a car but a lot easier to have one! Parking was never a problem.
I wouldn't hesistate to recommend this hotel and won't even contemplate a different place if I ever come back to Orlando! « less

I have to say--this hotel was not only very REASONABLE, but EXCELLENT in so many ways. We came up from Boston after the terrible bombing and spent two nights at this hotel, which was super! Marian, the girl at the front desk went out of her way to make our stay so wonderful. The hot buffet breakfast (bacon, eggs, etc.) was a plus and our room was super clean. The heated well-maintained pool was just wonderful! This same week we continued traveling in FL staying at other hotels, which were so disappointing. We actually had reservations for another Orlando hotel and canceled out when we saw six sheriff cars in front w/young men handcuffed. So...we decided to drive a bit further and come back to this wonderful Hawthorn Suites hotel where we stayed at earlier in the week. Marian was at the front desk again and just as friendly...we ended up w/another super clean room and feeling so SAFE. Believe me...don't hesitate to book this hotel even if it means spending a few more $. For pennies more, we have a king bed, kitchen facilities, two TVs and so much more! And SUPER CLEAN and you will love the hot breakfast! And you just have to meet Marian at the front desk...she is an AMAZing employee and what a asset to the hotel!!!! We will be back to this hotel...that's for sure! SUPER CLEAN AND SAFE area and CLOSE to everything...PERFECT in so many ways!!! A special thank you to the great staff especially Marian!!! « less

We were in Orlando on business and wanted to stay in a suite since we'd be there for four days. We were quite pleased with our accommodations at Hawthorn Suites. The space provided was more than ample. The room was exceptionally clean and well taken care of while we were there. We were most impressed by the friendliness of the staff. No staff member ever walked past us without saying hello. We were also surprised at how quiet the hotel was. We rarely saw people in the hallway and never heard noise from any of the rooms. Each morning breakfast was a bit different...eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes, oat meal, rolls, bread, juices, fruit, etc. We were also pleasantly surprised to find out that we received two free drinks during their cocktail hour from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. We will plan on staying there again should the need arise. « less
