This has to be the worst Fairfield Inn I have stayed at ever. The property is in serious need of an update and needs to be maintained. It appears the only recent items my room were TVs. Everything else, bed, furniture, carpets, wallcoverings is just worn out and not maintained. My room had a broken storm window that faced inside the room, the closet door was missing and the entertainment center either had missing trim or had been colored with magic marker to "look" better. See my pictures. I could have taken four or five more of the poor condition of the furniture, carpet and etc.
Do not know if there is a good room location in this hotel. Railroad track is across the street and each passing train sounds its horn when passing the hotel. Probably three or four trains per night. Turning on the AC/Heater fan did not cover up the train noise. Noise also from adjacent and above rooms.
I do not understand how Marriott can allow any property to fall to this level of condition and maintenance. I associate the condition and level of maintenance of this property with lesser hotel chains not Marriott!! This property is not a $80-$90 per night property. It is worth $40 per night.
Will never stay here again....Still searching for a good corporate approved hotel in Memphis... « less

For what I paid for this room, I expected a lot more. I"m not a particularly picky person, but this place needs to be updated badly. I didn't think to ask for a mini-fridge, as I thought they were standard at this level; however, there was none in the room. We asked about one then, and was told they don't have any. The lobby was cramped. The was no automatic door in the lobby, so it's difficult wheeling luggage in/out a door that is the size of a regular household door that I have to open myself. The staff at desk simply watched me struggle with this rather than help out by holding the door. The part that irritated me the most is when I booked this hotel, I was debating about two others, but chose this one because of the indoor pool. That was something my kids had been begging for during our trip. Well, the pool was not working, and we couldn't cancel our reservation because it was too late upon discovering this disappointment. Walls were very thin, I could hear my neighbor's television much of the night. I could hear the people above me walk from their bed to their bathroom in the middle of the night, as well as anyone walking down the hallway outside our door. The night before, I had paid the same price elsewhere and gotten much nicer amenities. Otherwise, breakfast was fine, and the area that the hotel is located is safe and pleasant. For what I paid for this room, I expected a lot more. The staff make this hotel. I stay here at least 2 times a month and have for several years. The hotel itself, while clean, is on the tired side. The breakfast, like all Fairfields is nothing special. It has a great location for restaurants and all else in Germantown, which is by far the safest place to stay in the Memphis area.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We were very disappointed overall. Liked the location, the pool and hot tub. Water temps for both were wonderful. Towels were scarce and thin at the pool and hot tub.
Fresh baked cookies in the evening was nice, although we were only there one evening for them. Breakfast was just okay, enough to get the day started. They should consider an upgrade on breakfast.
Had to ask for coffee in the room and extra TP when it was low. They apologized.
Internet worked fine. Front desk people were very polite and helpful.
Thought that the cleaning gals were grumpy or rude, not sure which category to put them in. They were either really unhappy or just rude, possibly due to unhappiness. Our key was accidently deactivated half way thru our stay. They apologized and reactivated.
We often stay with the Marriott brand and I have to say this is the worse experience we have ever had with Marriott .
The beds were so so, although we are used to a tempurpedic. The pillows were horrid, bring your own !
There is a Walgreens closeby if needed. There are railroad tracks nearby. They are pretty active, which did not bother us as we are used to trains, but if you are not, it could be bothersome.
The best part of the stay here had to be the pool and hot tub ! « less
