Created out of seven historic buildings dating back to the 1860's. The hotel has all the historic charm of a boutique hotel with the modern amenities our guests expect. Exposed beam ceilings, slate floors and historic brick walls are artfully juxtaposed with rich woodwork, granite counters and wrought iron chandeliers. Within walking distance to the French Quarter three blocks away, Harrah's Casino, two blocks away and the Convention Center, six blocks away. There is a Pub with atrium seating, outdoor pool and courtyard, exercise facility, complimentary breakfast with high-protein, low carbohydrate options. Top of the line pillow top beds and complimentary high speed internet access.

We visited New Orleans with our son and daughter-in-law and stayed 3 nights at the CIS. At check-in we requested two rooms on the same floor and our request was easily accommodated. The staff at the hotel was consistently friendly and accommodating, and made us feel welcome at all times. Our king corner suite on the 4th floor had beautiful views of the former brick and beam warehouse and all the amenities we needed. On our first full day we booked a NOLA tour offered through the hotel, which was extremely well done and the highlight of our trip. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was quiet and a very short walk to the French Quarter. We would not hesitate to recommend or stay at the Country Inn & Suites on our next trip to New Orleans. « less

I booked this hotel based upon the ratings of other users and I'd have to say I was disappointed. Now maybe my expectations were too high as I've never been to NOLA and have nothing to compare other hotels in the area to, but being the #4 hotel on Tripadvisor I guess I would have expected more. My wife and I arrived late mid week and were provided a room on the first floor which happened to be right off an alley with much noise day, night, and evening. In addition to the noise in the alley we were kept up by others running/jumping on the floor above us at 1:00 am and were awoken at 6:30 am by construction work on the last day of our stay. Also, be aware room service is very limited if you typically eat in your hotel.
I rated this hotel three stars based on the following: the hotel provides a great location if you want to stay within walking distance to Decatur, Bourbon, and Royal Streets, our room was clean, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Maybe we just had a bad experience, but I think I'd look elsewhere next time. « less

Sorry to hear that the stay did not live up to your expectations - We definitely hold ourselves to the high standards that you see reflected in the reviews and ranking, so to hear you did not feel we met those is a disappointment for us. It sounds like a lot of what we can control went well, so hopefully you are willing to give us another shot next time you are in New Orleans and we can exceed your original hopes.

Our family of 5 stayed in the 2 room suite. It is just off of the main part of the French Quarter within walking distance of almost all of the New Orleans attractions. It is just a few blocks from the WWII museum (outstanding). The hotel is also close to the ferries and of course Bourbon and Royal Streets. There is a place just up the street toward Canal Street called Casa Angelo that sells the daily "Jazzy Passes" for all day use of the trolleys/buses. The gentleman there was so friendly and helpful. The valet parking at the hotel is a little pricey but this is handled very professionally. (We took our car out one day for a swamp tour (Honey Island also outstanding) without any issues.) The hotel staff were excellent at trying to make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. We highly recommend this hotel. « less

We stayed in a king room which was fine but rather small particularly the bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included with a buffet in the lobby every morning, also happy hour drinks and snacks. The hotel is on Poydras which is near enough to the French Quarter. The gym was tiny but I see they plan to redo it soon. Overall we enjoyed our stay « less
