It's graduation weekend in Columbus, Ohio plus the Cap City Half Marathon so things were pretty booked up close by. I'm in Grove City, Ohio at La Quinta. A very clean, well kept, and friendly place. The check-in is fast, the service is splendid, the room is quite nice, and the transit to Columbus very easy. Internet is available with an upgrade and television reception was somewhat erratic at times. The picture would become fuzzy,but, watchable. The cardinal sin of a sink that doesn't hold water was evident. However, the front desk person said they'd fix it. The beds are made in a some-what Marine Corps style, but once you figure out how to get in your're fine. There's a pool which I didn't try. You are a stone's throw from White Castle, WalMart, & Target. This is Ohio at it's best because it's all here. « less

The La Quinta in Grove City, OH is a very nice motel. It is located about 10 minutes from downtown, has a lot of restaraunts in the area, has a welcoming staff and is very clean and reasonable. It also accepts pets. I like everything about it except that the mattresses on the beds are very firm. « less

I paid a little over $100 a night for a Thursday & Friday last week. First time I stayed here - I usually stay at Microtel which is right in front of La Quinta. Microtel is usually less than $70 with taxes. There isn't much difference. La Quinta has a pool but that's about it. Room size not much different - La Quinta slightly bigger, but if you're looking for a nice place to sleep then I don't see any reason to pay the extra $$$ for LaQuinta. The LaQuinta is quiet and clean. Staff is just OK - they were not too friendly when I called for directions and couldn't find it - they could have told me just to turn at White Castle and drive 1/8 mile and they're on right. But they didn't and they didn't seem to want to help. So I spent 30 minutes trying to find it and it turns out it's right off Stringtown just behind Microtel. Bathrooms were nice and clean. No real problems, you'll like it. I just didn't think it was worth $30 more than Microtel. « less
