Hotel Modera is a sophisticated, sleek, and modern showcase in the heart of downtown Portland's Cultural District. The inner courtyard features a one-of-a-kind urban "Living Wall" and elegant glass-filled fire pits, while floor to ceiling glass floods the spacious lobby with light. Guestrooms feature works of art by local artists, picture windows, and superbly comfortable down-topped mattresses and crisp designer linens. Within blocks of famous museums, restaurants and boutiques.

Our first ever visit to Portland included lodging at Hotel Modera and it was a great choice. The location near the light rail was very convenient, and stops for the streetcar were only a couple of blocks away. Our room with a view was outstanding and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I selected this hotel primarily because of the location close to public transportation, and because of its contemporary design and was extremely pleased. Architecturally, someone did a beautiful job with the design including a vibrant courtyard along the entry.

The hotel was great. Staff was very friendly. The only negative would be second floor view to parking lot, but I believe you can upgrade for courtyard view, which may be worth it. Better yet, just walk down there and enjoy the view from courtyard or Nel Centro (restaurant) connected to hotel. Nel Centro had great drink selection, delicious food, a happy hour and awesome fire pits to enjoy on cooler night. I would recommend for couples, but may bring family here next time to give it a shot with them. I visited for a race so I did not try their arrangement with local gym, but there is an option to use gym and spa. I would really recommend this hotel. « less

We just got back from a trip to Oregon and stayed in the hotel Modera for 3 days. It was really a treat. Beautiful modern hotel with nicely appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. The outside courtyard was gorgeous with lights and gas fireplaces burning at night. Last but not least - the restaurant attached to the hotel had wonderful food. I will recommend this hotel to friends going to Portland in the future. « less

My first trip to the Pacific Northwest was an amazing experience. Great food, clean air, and it was capped off with my stay at Hotel Modera. Like most of the Portlanders I met, the staff at the Modera and its restaurant, Nel Centro, were true amabassadors of the city. From the valets to the front desk to the cleaning crew to the wait staff, all were happy to here about my travels and suggest a few more must do's in PDX. My room was clean. No overpowering odors of cleaning solvents. My room featured plenty of lighting and the complimentary Tarocco bath products were the finest I've used away from home. The hotel is located near the MET so travel around the city is easy even for a first timer. I can't say that Hotel Modera is the best hotel in the world because their are many that I've yet to visit. However, it is among the elite 2 to 3 that I've had the pleasure of staying. Highly recommended. « less
