This was our first stay at this hotel and it was meant to be a quick one since we were headed to Maggie Valley, N.C. For an SSR car/truck rally, but enough about us.
Getting to the hotel was trickier than it probably should have been because I blindly followed the GPS, plus we arrived during rush hour! I should have reviewed the directions provided by the hotel on their website.
Arriving at the hotel we were greeted by an immaculate landscape. Check-in was easy as usual. The staff was very courteous. The hotel was spotless and the room was quiet. This hotel sits a couple of blocks off of Rte. 177 so I imagine every room is quiet.
We got up too late for the complimentary breakfast (it goes until 9:30).
While checking out, the desk clerk recommended we critique the hotel on Trip Advisor because it had been rated near #1 for a couple of years. I can believe it! I'd gladly stay there again the next time we stop over in the Memphis area. « less

Nice clean hotel, bed was very comfortable and housekeeping was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Above average overall for what I find traveling on business 15 to 20 nights a year. Only negative was the chair at the desk was not quite high enough and also there was a sharpe edge on the drawer pull that scratched my leg when I swiveled around in the chair to get up. Breakfast was the same pre-fab stuff all hotel chains provide but there was fresh fruit as an alternative. « less

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a short Spring Break vacation. Although this hotel is located east of the Memphis downtown area, using the good highway system allows you to get around the Memphis area pretty easily. The hotel is adjacent to the Wolf River and Germantown Greenways and just south of Shelby Farms. If you are into urban hiking and exercise walking, this is the hotel for you. It is also close to the Germantown Commissary; a great BBQ restaurant. We were quite happy with the hotel accomodations and the rate was quite reasonable. All in all, a real find in this bustling mid-south city. This hotel is not directly on Germantown Road but at the end of a short cul-de-sac; Wolf Trail Cove just west of Germantown Road. It can be easy to miss if you're not careful. « less

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Germantown (Memphis area) is a very family friendly hotel. The purpose of our visit is to visit our grandchildren in the area. The management was great about letting our grandchildren stay with us in the hotel and go swimming in their nice heated indoor swimming pool. The hotel rooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is kept clean. The complimentary breakfast is a plus. The location is also very good and quiet. The greatest compliment I can give is to the management and staff who go out of their way to make your a stay a pleasant one. « less
