Very nice hotel that actually stands on stilts in the water rather than on land, which adds to its uniqueness. The location is great - on the waterfront close to downtown Seattle - walked to the Needle in about 20 mins...
The room I had was large, with a water view & nicely laid out with 2 beds, corner gas fireplace, with walk-in shower, etc., though it seemed like 200 yards away from reception, restaurant, etc.
Being on vacation rather than on business, I was perhaps more budget conscious than a business traveler might be, and was a bit disappointed that they had valet only parking (they simply parked my car in the adjoining parking lot, but of course there was a $38 charge for it) and if you wanted to bring your things to your room yourself, they wouldn't let you use a cart - the bellman had to come with it (& of course more $$). And of course, there is an additional $10 charge if you want to use Wi-Fi for a day...
I also didn't appreciate maid service knocking on my door at 7:45 am, while I was still asleep & then again at 8:45 am, well before my checkout time - it made me wonder if they were perhaps thinking I was out for breakfast & perhaps wanting to check out my stuff to see if something was worth taking...I contacted front desk to complain about it.
Overall, a nice hotel but you pay & then pay again & then again & again... « less

Just stayed for 2 nights at the Edgewater. I have wanted to stay here since first visiting Seattle several years ago. Upon arrival there was a little mixup with the room. I was told by edgewater staffr over the phone, after booking from priceline, we had a waterfront view (what I wanted) but was given a city view when I arrived. After a little back and forth with the desk, we were accommodated with a sort of waterfront view (it was on the side of the building looking at the pier and dirty water next to the hotel. Again, we booked on priceline for a great deal so I was not going to push the issue.
The room: It was a little overcrowded with bulky furniture, but cozy. The bed was comfortable, shower/bathroom was above average. Fireplace-stellar addition. We enjoyed the balcony (after the tide came in and as long as we craned our necks toward the good view). The shuttle service to places within 5 miles was extremely helpful and appreciated.
All in all I would stay again but would ask for a waterfront view with the last two numbers in the 26-40 range for a better view (ie 126 or 232 etc.)
My only other complaint is the charge for wifi . . . really? McDonalds even has free wifi! « less

My husband and I had a one day layover in Seattle. We booked a room at the Edgewater and were happy we did. The hotel is wonderful...great staff, awesome bar, great lunch menu and outdoor seating (weather permitting) with views of the harbor! Our room was very nice, with a full view of the harbor. We had a "companion"...a cute black teddy bear sitting on our bed...took me back to my childhood...just had to snuggle that cutie...yes, the bear is available for purchase. In the sitting area/lounge near the registration area is the wall of fame...pictures of all the bands and celebrities that stayed at the Edgewater...including the Beatles! One note....the hotel needs a bit of a face lift...not much...just some attention to detail...nothing that impacts my experience but something the hotel management needs to keep an eye on! A few blocks down is the elevator that takes you up the hill and leaves you a block or two from Pikes Market. « less

A beautiful hotel. I was surprised to learn that wifi was not free ($12). I was told by travel agent that parking was free, which is why I chose to pay more for this hotel. The cost of parking is $38 per night and was not told until already parked that this was so. So be aware that the true cost is $50 more than expected. I only needed a place to sleep, not all the luxuries afforded by the Edgewater. If you want ambience, this is the place for you. But be aware of the true price. « less

On the water with gorgeous views. Quieter to stay there than in hotel in the busy city. You can see the Space Needle from one side and the water from the other. We were lucky to stay there a couple days after coming back into Seattle from an Alaskan Cruise. The room was very nice, but a little small, with a comfortable bed and a small fireplace, They do a nice job for the guests here. Wonderful shuttle service up to town and will pick you up when you call. Very accommodating Hotel. Would love to stay there again sometime. « less
