I spent 3 nights and had 3 nights of great sleep in a great bed. I wish I had been able to take the mattress home with me. This hotel is beautifully decorated, has an excellent breakfast bar and the hallways are bright. I don't like a hotel with dark hallways. The shower was a wonderful walkin with shower head, handheld shower head and body water jets. The directions for using the shower was on the bathroom door but it would have been more helpful if placed next to the shower head. But once I figured it out, I was in love. Great shower. The front desk people were wonderful and gave us great information about area restaurants. The hotel is a little hard to see from the street as it is behind another hotel. But I would definitely stay there again. « less

We could not get a room in New Orleans as it was jazz week . This was not an issue as we found the holiday inn express to be an excellent alternative after a long drive from Vicksburg . The reception staff member was great he gave us an superb recommendation for dinner. The hotel was near the interstate 10 and the room was very good, the shower was excellent (fortunately they give you instructions!) . The breakfast was good. « less

Hotel is situated within town of La Place, which is around 20/30 mins drive to New Orleans and around 15 / 20 mins from Louis Armstrong Intl Airport. It is a really good base to visit both Baton Rouge and New Orleans if you want to get away from the city hustle and bustle each evening.
Suite was a good size with a king size bed, sofa and fully functioning kitchen area; no utensils or crockery supplied; however there were plastic cutlery and paper plates for your use. Sufficient breakfast supplied each day to start you off.
Hotel car park well lit and kept clean each day by staff. Pool area surrounded by locked gates, staff always friendly and helpful, would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. « less

This hotel was relatively new, clean, quiet, in a safe location, and within a short driving distance from New Orleans. (about 14 miles to air port). We also drove to Baton Rouge. A visit to the state capitol has a fantastic view of the city and Mississippi River from the top (27 th floor). Breakfast was hot and had all the normal choices. The staff were friendly. Wifi was free as was the parking. The shower was a little tricky to operate but once you learned it was nice. We stayed 3 nights with no problems or concerns. « less

Stayed here for 2 nights on business because it was high season in New Orleans and all hotels were very expensive and most you may still have to pay for parking and internet, which is free here plus the breakfast is too.
The hotel is right off 1-10 but far enough that there is no traffic noise from there or US 51, which is a big plus. The area is really nothing much, just a few gas stations and fast food restaurants. It's about 20ish minutes into the city, but 1-10 bottlenecks are famous going in so be sure to leave extra time no matter what time of day.
It is by far the newest hotel in Laplace and if you were to stay anywhere in this town, this is the place. Also I noted this HI Express seems to have better construction than most of their new hotels around the country - usually I am on the top floor but wasn't this time but I didn't even hear so much as a footstep from above and the hotel was very busy even midweek.
No complaints at all here. I would much prefer to stay in New Orleans proper but this is a good alternative. I must say the staff was very, very friendly and helpful, always had a hello and a cheerful greeting no matter who it was - that's increasingly rare these days. « less
