The last time I stayed in this hotel was in 2007 and a lot has changed since then. First off the hotel seems much more luxurious than it was then. As well it also seems to have better dining facilities and better amenities.
I remember last time that the rooms were quite large and they still are. I got a room with one king bed. I was there as part of a convention and was not dissappointed with this room yet again.
The location of the hotel was great. It was just a few minutes to both the mall and the train station. The mall has also gotten significantly better from when I was there last as well.
There were a few things that i personally thought could be better, but these are fairly minor.
-It seems that more and more hotels group the sports channels together on tv. Once I get through them the channel slection was pretty good. I did miss not having HBO though. Also the colour on some of the channels was a little off. -The bathroom was a decent size but had a shower only and the glass only covered half of it. if you stood under the water stream it sprayed in all directions but when you moved to the part with no door then you got cold really fast. I have no problem with shower only, I just think that it should be completely enclosed. -The lighting in the hallway remains on at all times, as it should. However, there is light coloured tile on the floor as you first walk in and that just takes the light and makes it spread. It was the same for the light under the door that connects to the next room. In order to get the room 100% dark, i had to put towels on the floor to block the light.
The rooms were quiet, I couldnt hear either neighbour, the elevators were plenty and fast enough, the food was okay, though I dont know if the buffet is worth the price that they ask for it.
All in all I would say that I do like it here and will stay again. I would also like to make use of the pool next time. « less

I didn't realize how close this was to NYC. Went with my wife to a Pez convention and stayed for two nights. King size bed for one of the most comfortable I've slept on. Hated coming home to our worn mattress. Shower did not have a door? But great location to restaurants and train station. Hour train ride puts you at Yankee Stadium :).
Excellent staff ... Huge new rooms .... Clean, fabulous amenities ... A quick walk from the train and an awesome club room .... Comfy king bed and big big big...

I had a really great experience at the Sheraton. The hotel staff was very accommodating, pleasant and professional. I enjoyed their "social hour" in which you partake in a wine tasting. The wines were rated 90+. Very close to the Stamford Town Center (mall) and with complimentary shuttle to the Metro North for quick access into NYC. « less

We are also currently featuring Jazz saxophonist David Davis on Wednesdays for the Social Hour, and reviewing special hor dourves to pair with the particular wines being featured. The hotel now features three shuttles that travel within a 5 mile radius of the property, offering complimentary transportation to Stamford Town Center, the Metro North station in Stamford for that quick 30 minute train to Grand Central, and to several key corporate offices throughout the Stamford area.
