Stay was ok. I wasn't there very long but glad the pool was open until 11 pm for my children. However I had trouble getting towels. The woman at the front desk was rude. I asked for towels, as we had used our room towels for the pool. She looked at me crazy when I asked for more and said she would send some up but never did. I waited for a long time until we just had to take some ragged ones from the pool area (after they were finally refilled there). I never come to McAllen but ppl in the area were generally rude so I don't plan on returning. « less

My stay was for 2 nights as part of a small birdwatching group. This hotel is well situated to be close to the airport and is on a busy street so any shopping/dining needs a person would have are convenient. Hotel is gracious in offering its own shuttle van to the airport, if needed.
The property is ready for renovation as the wear and tear is showing. Beds were comfortable, and the room is large. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. Housekeeping needs to attend to bathroom cleaning in a more serious manner.
Noise is a problem-wall insulation is good but noise travels up and down the hallway: particularly when lots of children are whooping and hollering up and down the hallway-parents, where are you? Earplugs were needed to obtain quiet for rest/sleep. « less

We were "distressed" airline customers and were put up in this hotel for one night. Although it is a little rundown the service was very friendly and accommodating. Quick pick up from the airport and free shuttle to restaurants etc. The pool and hot tub were nice. We left too early in the am. to enjoy breakfast but the rest of our stay was decent. We stayed on the first floor and it was fairly loud due to the ice machine and people in the hallways (tile floor echoed noise). One concern was that the outside doors weren't secure but when I mentioned it to the front desk it was quickly remedied. The location is good (mall across street, restaurants like Tony Roma's and Olive garden are close) It was fun to have ice cream vending machines in the hallways. All in all a good and restful stay from a very frustrating flight. « less
