Wow! What a great stay. It has everything you could want in a hotel especially staying right in Buckhead.
My husband and I traveled to Atlanta for my 30th birthday. We live at the beach so we make our getaways to the city to walk around, eat and drink mainly.
Rooms - nice layout with a couch, bathroom was a little small but I liked how the vanity was seperate from the toilet and shower and sink. I was able to lay all of my makeup and hair stuff out with getting in my husbands way.
Location - walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants and to the marta. There is also a strip mall super close if you need to get to a grocery store. In addition there was a shuttle that will take you in a 2 mile radius. Each time we took it somewhere we called for a pick up and they were there in under 10 minutes.
Amenities - I liked that it was pet friendly and we were able to bring our dog with us. Free breaksfast which was a little different every morning and they had everything you could think of. For the caliber of the hotel it was nice to have the breakfast included. Also included was parking which was another bonus.
Staff - EXCELLENT staff. They were friendly and helpful. They even mailed our Mother's Day cards even though we didn't have postage. Also, Kenny recommended to places to us in town that were both terrific. Pricci and Dantannas (sp). We loved Dantannas so much we went back a few nights later.
All in all if we head back to Atlanta anytime soon, the Hyatt is where it's at! « less

The service overall was mediocre, and both a hotel assistant manager as well as the general manager were rude and unhelpful. I called Hyatt's consumer complaints department to complain and will never stay here or at another Hyatt again. « less

Our third stay at the Hyatt Place on Peachtree Rd. was just perfect, like always. Front desk people are interested in making every single stay just right- they go out of their way to make sure all needs are covered, asking if there's anything at all we need. The modest cost for a night, similar to Hampton Inn and Marriott Courtyard prices.... leaves the competition far behind.
The rooms are dependably all alike (so far!). The two-room layout gives plenty of space to open the queen size sofabed, nightstands are easy to reach even with the bed folded down. The kitchen counter area has a small coffee pot, and they're generous with coffee and tea. The refrigerator gets nice and cold, the sink is adequate to wash out a few dishes and cups. Nice for soft drinks and leftover restaurant meals.
Two queen size beds have great mattresses, and the pillow selection is very good. Bath towels are generous-sized, the bathroom counter - whoopee - has enough room for makeup for three women, how nice is that? And a very large mirror. The bathtub/shower and toilet is behind a closed door, separate from the bathroom sink/countertop. A separate closet with a full length mirror on the door faces a second full length mirror on the toilet room door, nice for seeing the whole picture when dressing.
Best breakfast and seating area of any free-breakfast hotel I know of. They have square white decent weight regular dishes, cups, and bowls, decent silverware, large napkins, and a comfortable seating area. Hot oatmeal, pancakes, fruit galore, yogurts, toast, muffins, coffee choices, juice... and much more. Very nice breakfast, presented beautifully, much better than most most hotel breakfast offerings.
The pool area looks nice, but not used by our group.
Only one shortcoming, and it's tiny - only one nightstand serves both beds. The fix? Get the ironing board out of the closet, set it to the nightstand height you prefer,, and place it between the wall and the bed- just enough room And it's large enough for a suitcase, plus night time stuff such as book, glasses, iPad, iPhone, and kleenex. Plus there's an electric plug right there ready to use.
Good stay for just a few nights or several. Hyatt Place is a personal favorite. « less

Stayed at this hotel in order to be close to a work site & it's fine for the price. But beware, not all rooms are equal. My first room was unacceptable so I asked to be switched. That's when I found out that the king rooms have been redone, unlike the queen rooms. The manager on duty was very accommodating & switched me. I was on the 3 rd floor & found the room clean & decent. Shower was nice with lots of hot water, bed was comfy...but most importantly, it was quiet. Be sure to ask for room away from elevator as it dings very loudly when it arrives on the floor. Free Internet, free parking garage & free breakfast (that I never tried). Coffee in lobby, bar in lobby, outdoor pool, friendly staff. « less
