My son has a serious illness and we recently stayed at this hotel to be near Stanford. People really make the difference, especially during hard times. I want to thank and recommend this hotel for their wonderful people/staff. Everyone we dealt with and had contact with was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. This is true in all of our phone calls in making room arrangements and changes we needed and in all direct person contact with front desk day and evening staff, maid services, and facilities people on the ground.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable..the beds are very comfortable. The price is the best I've found near Stanford, which is super important to us during this difficult and medically expensive time. We were very comfortable in our room. The continental breakfast was good with waffles, pre-made breakfast sandwhiches and burritos, and all the usuals. But really the staff made the difference. - thank you Best Western - Redwood City. (and we'll be back next week.)
(also, market across the street was very helpful. Noted from others that the neighborhood is not as good as closer to Stanford, but it is not bad, and we really weren't traveling or walking around while in our room. The room and facility was pleasant enough and comfortable with everything we needed. We did enjoy the hot tub, steam/sauna rooms, and exercise equipment.) « less

The hotel is fine, a typical Best Western, except that the workout facility is hidden in a corner, far away from the front desk. If you were in the workout room by yourself and someone came in with bad intentions, no one would see or hear anything. There is actually a sign in the room warning you not to workout alone, which means as a practical matter that a lot of guests wouldn't be able to work out at all. As a woman who puts a priority on working out when I travel on business, this just isn't acceptable. « less

Thank you so much for staying at the Best Western Executive Suites. I am glad you were happy with our service. I am sorry you didn’t feel safe in our exercise room, however we have never had any issues with security while guests use the facilities. We also have someone hotel staff periodically walk the property throughout the evening. To clarify: the reason we have a sign in the exercise room is as a safety precaution, not for any security related reasons. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel with us and allowing us to address your concerns. We hope to see you again sometime in the future.

Was sent to these accomodations due to fed. govt. maximum of $110 a night so I could attend seminar in Menlo Park.
Not disappointed. The room was quite spacious, separate sleeping area w/king bed; separate sitting area with a dedicated desk to work on the laptop/ free wifi; tv viewing area; bath & make up area.
King bed very soft. Needs to be replaced. However, all sheets and covers changed every day.
Staff was verrrry nice and accomodating. Since I speak Spanish no problem communicating with the housekeeping staff.
Breakfast is spartan (no proteins like sausage/bacon) but an excellent waffle maker. In fact as I was checking out 2 design people were there recommending to the owners how to improve the breakfast area.
The other comments about "men hanging around" is not a concern as these are day laborers waiting to get work. Walked to the Jack in the Box next door 1 day and not hassled.
Hotel is on the very border, edge of the Redwood City working class neighborhood (not a concern) & Atherton. Cross 1 block south across El Camino Real and I was walking amongst $1 million dollar homes. Up the street a block or 2 is the Ferrari dealer and down the street a few blocks is the Tesla dealer.
Amazing thing is that each night, the parking lot was full of cars of patrons who checked in.
Central location as I still had time for diversions of taking a tour of Stanford University (10 minutes away), Half Moon Bay (30 minutes away), visiting friends in upscale Woodside (5 minutes away) and shopping/eating at Stanford Mall (Bloomies/Nordies/verrry upscale).
Overall, a very positive experience. Would return at any time. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"I was very impressed with the service I received from both you and Pam. Thank you for the GREAT service." D.T. - Council Bluffs, IA
"Everything went excellent. I'm really glad I decided to go with both your company and Sierra Suites for accommodations for my wedding. People are now wishing there were more Sierra Suites around. They were even kind enough to offer the discounted rate to those people that weren't sure they'd make to the wedding until after the cutoff date. I have already referred someone to your service for a wedding she's planning in Michigan." R.S. - Parsippany, NY
