Reservations: made them at marriott.com with ease
Check In: Took about 10 seconds, "Matt" and the young lady with him were friendly and helpful. We got in late and asked that our luggage be delivered to our room so we could stop for a nightcap, and it was done with ease.
Ambience: Hotel is enormous, laid out well. Lobby, Attractive, modern, large. We enjoyed another "Matt" at the lobby bar, which was a fun place.
People: Everyone was great. Always greeted warmly, everyone was helpful, great feel to the place.
Room/Bathroom/View: Nice sized, sparkling clean. We had a gorgeous view of Elliott Bay, the Olympics, and even Mt. Rainier. Amazing.
Concierge Lounge: As others have said, felt crowded. Offerings were fine.
Location: For us, perfect. You are not in central downtown, but we considered that a plus. Every morning, we walked along the gorgeous boardwalk, and took and elevator to Pike Market (which we loved!) and then over to the downtown hotel where my business was located. Felt like we got a real sense of this wonderful city in that mile or so walk.
Fun Facts: We walked all the way down to the Pike Market "Public Parking" deck, and then took its elevator up directly into the Pike Market. It was very, very convenient.

I am confused about the reviews stating this hotel was old. The outside did appear to be old Miami art deco, but as is the entire area. The indoors of this hotel is very renovated, the rooms were very clean and updated, gorgeous. We, unfortunately, had a room where we were looking out at other rooms, but if you stepped up to our window you could look out over the sound. Beautiful views. The gentlemen that checked us in was absolutely friendly, and very helpful when we mentioned this was our first time in Seattle. He gave us a few tips on how to get around, the monorail, where our booked restaurant was located. He was super helpful, and very appreciated. The hotel is located on the wharf, which is great if you like kitchy seafood restaurants. It's perfect walking distance to PIkes Place market. I felt it was very out of the way, as everything closed at 6:30pm every night, except very few high end restaurants. We did get to eat in the market after 6:30, but the rest of the market was closed. I would head further inland if coming again, or Lake Union area. I was surprised this wasnt the "houseboat" side of Seattle you're familiar with from the movies. That would be Lake Union. Everything we needed was still walking distance however. We walked about 1 mile to the monorail that took us to space needle, and half a mile to Pikes Place. « less

The best thing about this hotel is the friendliness of the staff as the hotel itself is a bit daggy and dated. It looks like it should be hosting a bad convention in the 1990's.
The view we had over Puget Sound was lovely but the room was disappointing particularly when we turned down the bed and our sheets had a big stain on them. The bathroom was tiny and as the price for the room was on the high side we certainly didn't feel we got value for money.
We did pay for access to the concierge floor which included continental breakfast, drinks and afternoon snacks. This again was a time warp back to 1990 with cheese and crackers in two rooms joined together that had an overwhelming aroma of egg.
Unfortunately our stay ended badly when we found we had to fly home after a death in the family. As we had checked out of our room, I asked to use a phone to ring a couple of 1800 numbers to book new flights. The front desk directed me to a phone in the lobby. While I was on the phone - mid conversation, two men from front desk came over to tell me I couldn't use the phone in an aggressive manner. While they apologised once they new the situation it was very badly handled.
I would only recommend you stay here if it's cheap or you have a thing for salesman. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Kudos to Jackie, and many thanks to your service. I never would have known about that particular hotel, and even if I eventually did find it, it would have taken me days to accomplish what I did in 15 minutes with you. Now our entire group can look forward to a care-free stay at the perfect rate at the perfect location. I've never been this organized this far in advance of an event, so thanks for making me look good!" K.S. - Vancouver, WA
"I had already contacted Marriott prior to finding your site, but you got us a deal $24 cheaper per night than Marriott was willing to offer! Also, since the rooms are blocked for our wedding, the website with our own URL was perfect. This was the most convenient and easy to use service I have encountered since starting to plan the wedding. I had the whole room blocking process done in 48 hours, it saved a lot of time and money. Thanks!" C.T. - Richmond, BC
