We pulled into the first exit we could find - we are riding the motorcycle from Toronto to Florid and the last 3 hours were cold, wet and windy.
Reception was fast and very friendly. The lovely young lady who checked us in offered to show us where we could park the bike out of the rain.
The room was spacious and clean. This was great because it allowed us to spread out our gear to allow it to dry overnight. Coffee maker, granola bar, popcorn and bottled water were all complimentary. There was even a printer in the room.
I was expecting your typical "free" breakfast of cold cereal, pastries and fruit but to my surprise there was hot food too. Scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, warm biscuits etc as well as a full selection of other breads, pastries and yogurts.
I can't speak to the convenience of the location as a tourist in the town but for access from the highway for two cold and wet riders it was perfect. « less

When we checked in there was a friendly young man at the counter who handed me a candy bar and welcomed me to Altoona. The room itself was very clean, but a bit dated. I really do not like the rooms with the sink in the hallway, I do not think they do that anymore. The linens were crisp and clean, the pillows were great. The water, microwave popcorn and granola bar in the refrigerator was a really nice touch. The breakfast looked nice, and the coffee was great. Overall I would prefer a room with the bathroom sink to be in the bathroom, so I would look for something different next time. The question is would I be willing to trade the very friendly and hospitable staff for a all in one bathroom, not sure. « less

This is usually my go-to hotel when visiting the Altoona Area whether on business or pleasure. Upon check in - was greeted by the Assistant Manger who welcomed me as a Priority Club Member & I was able to choose 1 item out of a basket of snacks & drinks, so of course I picked the Yuengling Beer. Perfect! ... But he also did advise me the Outdoor Hot Tub was no more, as the ADA folks complained it wasn't handicap accessible & the hotel made the decision to remove it from the rear of the property. So the gazebo portion is still there in the nicely landscaped backyard - but the hot tub is missing, revealing just a empty space. I was really looking forward to sitting in the hot tub as it snowed outside during my stay.
Otherwise - another great stay. Rooms very clean, Breakfast Area also clean & well stocked. There is nothing negative that could be said otherwise about the property.
I understand the hotel going to be starting a renovation project in the near future. Wonder if they might build a in-ground hot tub so the ADA folks can be happy & the rest of the guests can go back to using the hot tub again... Well we can only wish... « less

Thank you for the wonderful review! We have recently started plans on rennovating the back patio now that the hot tub is gone. We did get rid of the Gazebo, but we are adding more comfortable chairs, tables, and even a hammock! to enjoy! Hope to see you at your next visit.
