I am still here at the Embassy Suites, LAX South as I write this review. I saw the hotel/building as our plane landed. Was impressed with the Spanish architecture and was hoping it was the same Embassy Suites we booked. (I saw another one from the aiport but it looked like any other Embassy Suites structure.) Alas! Yes, indeed, it was our hotel.
Shuttle bus picked us up in a few minutes from making the call. The driver was very professional, very polite and helpful. Excellent ambassador of the hotel. He is the first to give an impression of the hotel.
As we drove up, the bell man was ready with the baggage cart and did not give us a chance to pick up our own bags. He took care of it right away. Led us to the reception, like an excellent bell man and very professional.
The front desk was fast, very thorough.
We had dinner at the Bar & Grill restaurant ... excellent food, excellent service.
The complimentary welcome cocktail was a plus. The bartenders were very personable.
Can't wait for the hot breakfast tomorrow morning.
The property is close to the freeway and couldn't hear any noise from cars. Sound proof.
The room is very nice, very clean, smells great. Haven't checked if this is a new hotel. It sure appears brand new.
Highly recommended for vacationers and even transiting LAX passengers. Excellent place to relax from a long flight.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice evening reception and great breakfast buffet with cooked to order items. We had a room with the "frosted" windows that could not be opened but it did not bother us. No safe deposit box in rooms. Nothing close to the hotel. If you exit the hotel and turn to the right and walk up to the first light and turn right, there is a coffee shop and a few places to get sandwiches but they appear to be open during the workday for people working in the office buildings. If you keep walking (a little more than a half mile total) after you turn the corner and pass the coffee shop, there is a IHOP. Other than that, nothing nearby if you don't have a car. We ate dinner in the restaurant inside the hotel and it was very good and reasonably priced. Nice business center with complimentary internet. Very friendly staff at Reception desk and friendly shuttle driver to/from airport. Would definitely stay here again. « less

I found this hotel to be a little better than ok. It was located in a nice residential area which was great when it came time to jog or walk. The staff was nice and the food was just alright. The amenities were useful and clean such as the pool, workout and business area.
I read the reviews regarding the shuttle but I had no problems with the shuttle service. Wanted to stay here upon my return from China. « less

Our location in El Segundo is great if you want to get out for exercise after a long flight. The city is very safe and the hotel is just less than 2 miles from the beach, allowing quick access to the boardwalk for a safe and enjoyable run or walk.

This is the second time we have used this Embassy Suites for an LAX overnight. The first was to catch a trans Pacific flight and this time to board a cruise ship. The property is huge, but it feels intimate because of the lobby layout. The rooms are standard over large Embassy Suites. There is complimentary airport shuttle service. The staff is attentive, competent and professional. The manager's full bar reception is a welcome plus as the hotel is in an industrial area with no restaurants or retail stores within waking distance. This is not a problem because the in-house restaurant is more than adequate and there is also a bar menu available. The "cooked to order" breakfast buffet is unbelievable and worth the stay by itself. No free wifi,but the business center computers and printer are available 24hours. May not be the ideal location for touring LA, but for LAX convenience, it is excellent « less
