This is a huge and poorly ran hotel that wasn't a complete dump but deferred maintenance issues are becoming a huge issue. I have pictures attached of for my experience.
Check in was handled by a front desk agent who thought he was being professional yet was only being annoying. Taking a full minute to explain about the $50 hold and 5 days to release on my credit card was quite annoying. Thanks for clearing that up for me buddy, i only travel 100+ days per year.
The public areas were clean and in decent shape. There was no upscale feeling to these areas but they were still fine.
The hallways appeared to be in decent shape with good lighting.
The room was clean but just suffered from general old age and was extremely outdated. Ramada Inn's have nothing on the Millennium. This place still screams 1990. From the peeling wallpaper, to the 700 lb box television that I'm pretty sure broadcasted original run episodes of the Cosby Show, to the tub that had been leaking hot water for such an extended period of time that there was not only huge rust spots but a colony of something slimy growing in the drain pipe itself. That alone was repulsive enough to almost make me ask for another room.
On the plus side there were plenty of cable stations to watch on the 700 lb gorilla tv and the bedding on the full size beds were high quality.
To sum it up you can do much better than this property in Cincinnati especially taking into consideration the fact that the Hyatt across the street is currently going through extensive renovations. « less

We got the hotel last minute through Hotwire, it was less than 100.00 for the night which was great. The location was good and easy to find. The parking however was terrible. We had to pay to park in a parking garage around the block, then pack our stuff through the Hilton hotel and then cross the street to the millenium. If you had lots of bags or small children this would be a major hassle. Not to mention we paid over 20.00 in parking...which was absurd. The beds were comfy but the rooms were small..especially the bathroom. All in all it was a decent place to stay...Even though we heard the club from across the streets music all night. « less

Located in Downtown Cincinnati, The Millennium hotel has a great location. However, this property is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. The brand has hotels worldwide and has a great reputation as an upscale place to stay. However, the decor and service at this location is from another planet compared to other Millennium locations. Downtown Cincinnati in recent years has done a lot to create a welcoming atmosphere. They have great restaurants (see my other TA reviews) and recently opened a state of the art casino (Horseshoe). Unfortunately, while other hotels are embracing their "art deco" past (Hilton) and some are creating a new footprint (Hyatt), The Millennium is stuck in the nondescript 1980's. Our first impression of the lobby was that they need to put money into their decor. They have old carpet, broken tile and boring nondescript furniture. Considering they're asking $200/nt on average, they should project a better first impression. Unfortunately, it gets worse The rooms are small and the amenities are Comfort Inn-esque. The coffee maker is basic, with exactly the kind of coffee you would receive at a lower end property. The coffee cups are styrofoam and the drinking cups are plastic. The bed was comfortable, which is a good thing, since the bed takes up most of the room. Housekeeping did a good job of cleaning the room, although they had trouble keeping up with the toilet paper. If the service had been reasonable, the outdated decor and poor amenities could be overlooked. But the valet, room and bell service were all weak. Calling down for your car ($25/day) was a waste of time because it was never there when I expected it. The bell service was no help to guests coming and going on the Saturday, which put pressure on the valets to do 2 jobs. As far as room service, we had to leave a message to be called back to order breakfast. The food was good and the waiter was a good guy, but the theme of the event fell into other parts of our stay. Overall, the Millennium is in seems to be waiting for something, as opposed to making something happen. If you're staying in Cincinnati, look for other options before settling for the Millennium. « less

While they are in the process of upgrading and refurbishing the North Tower, the South Tower has been completely neglected. There is dirt in the vending area that has been there since I arrived over a week ago. The ice machine doesn't work. The rooms are not cleaned well. The lobby is almost like an abandoned building. There is tons of construction noise which is disruptive to lots of rooms. I would not stay here again. « less

We recently attended a convention here and stayed for four nights. Our first room had a tv that didn't work. We called the desk and they sent someone up very promptly who assessed the situation and told us he would try to find another room. Within five minutes a bellman arrived with a cart to move us to another room in a refurbished area of the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Cincinnati. Staff are generally responsive, but somewhat uneven, Restaurant is adequate but unremarkable, furnishings are shabby. They offer a breakfast buffet for $15. For the same price, we found we could go diagonally across the street to the Hilton Nederlander, where the offerings are fresher and more extensive, service and ambiance are far superior. « less
