When to Visit Springfield, OR
Like much of the Willamette Valley, Springfield sees warm summers and the occasional snow in winter. That makes choosing the best time to visit an important consideration. Summer is by far the most popular time to visit. Average high temperatures from June to August range from the upper 70s to the low 80s Fahrenheit. As a result, if you're looking for a good hotel deal, you won't find it during this season.
On the other hand, fall is a good season to start looking for deals. Temperatures in this season stay relatively mild, starting out with average highs in the mid-70s in September and dropping to the low 50s by November.
From December to February, the average highs in Springfield are in the mid-40s to lower 50s. Keep in mind that while the area doesn't see large accumulations of snow, it does average 5 inches a season. What Springfield does get a lot of during winter is rain. Each month can see an average of 5 to 7 inches. However, if you don't mind dealing with the less-than-perfect weather, you can find some great hotel deals in the area during these months.
When spring rolls around, the rainy season begins to disappear, and temperatures start to climb. March through May sees average highs in the 50s and 60s. Since the summer crowds haven't arrived yet, this is another good season to find some hotel deals while enjoying slightly better weather.
