The hotel desperately needs a deep clean. The employees, however, were extraordinary. From housekeeping, to Café workers and especially front desk workers made us feel welcome and met our every need. Lincoln, Collette and Linda represented the best of Honolulu. They are the type of people I would hire if I owned a business. Thank you for hiring such personable, knowledgeable and helpful people. We enjoyed all employees.

We were visiting Honolulu for a wedding and stayed at the Equus hotel for a week. This was a great hotel very conveniently located in Waikiki on Ala Moana Blvd. and we could easily walk across the bridge to the enormous shopping center/mall with Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and restaurants. The rooms are clean and have pretty Colonial/Island style furnishings. Our balcony was spacious and had good seating. The cleaning and room service were great with fresh towels/linens and coffee pods delivered daily. There is a great bar called the Paniolo with an excellent bartender (Yulia) whose drinks were exceptionally good; I would say the bar was one of the highlights of the trip. We were also recommended by one of the bartenders to go check out the fireworks that take place every Friday night. Yulia also gave us great advice for where to catch the sunset on Waikiki which as it happens turns out to be the Marina where boats are docked. Overall, I would give this hotel a 7 8/10 but a gold star for the bar.
