Thanks to the mild climate, Oetz was already very popular with holidaymakers at the end of the 19th century. Since then, the beautiful landscape, central location, and the myriad leisure possibilities have made Oetz one of the most popular holiday resorts in Tirol.
After the extension of the Hoch-Oetz ski area, the village has experienced a real boom. But Oetz has more to offer than powder snow and jovial get-togethers in cozy alpine huts.
