Property Description

The Speech House Hotel was built in 1669 as a Hunting Lodge for Charles II. It is home to The Verderers Court,one of only two in the United Kingdom that meet 4 times per year. The Court is used as the main hotel Restaurant and is steeped in history. It is also licensed for Civil Ceromonies. There are 15 bedrooms in the main house with the remainder around the Courtyard. The two feature rooms in the main house have antique four poster beds 7' x 7'. There is a self contained conference centre adjoining the hotels 15 acre field, which has 4 breakout syndicate rooms, ideal for team building. There is a marquee ideal for weddings, dinners and reunions, seating upto 160. The hotel is the perfect base for touring the Wye Valley and is set at the centre of the Royal Forest. There are 253 miles of walking and cycling tracks on the doorstep and you have the River Wye and canoing 3 miles away. The hotel accepts well behaved pets in the Courtyard Rooms subject to availability.
