It is LAW in NJ that you have to wear a mask in any indoor public space in the hotel. SEVERAL times I noticed two different men,. one sitting at a table directly next to the front desk and in the room you had to go to buy water or snacks,..NOT wearing a mask ! NO ONE Working at the hotel said anything to these men. Really ??? So I had to walk my mother and myself through a lobby with people not wearing a mask which is the law ? Yep. ..front end mangers saw and said nothing.

"Very Disappointing"

I brought my 81 year old mother to this hotel because we lost our power at home. I couldnt leave her in a 90 degree house .and we paid al,ost $400 for two nights and about $100 in room service fees. ( food was served in paper and plastic. No silverware..no real napkins. But still the same 21% plus room service fees ) While I realize we are in a Pandemic and there are certain protocols Hotels need to follow. But,. when I arrived I was told there was no bell service, but I could use a bell cart. ( why couldn't a bellman wear a mask an ride a separate elevator ? ) So with my 81 year old mother who requires assistance to walk, three bags and a cooler. I began to push this huge cart that did not want to cooperate. I had to go through two sets of double doors to even get into the lobby. Then up a ramp and into the elevators. My mother tripped over her feet as I was trying to pull her to get onthe elevator and she fell. She did not get hurt thankfully. But after about 10 mins it took for me to get her up,. there was not a person/employee in sight to help. The employee at the front desk who was the manger on duty and a maintenance person were the only two employees taking care of the hotel. The front end manager was very professional and doing her job the best she could, but she was completely overwhelmed eventually because it was just to much. The TV in our room did not work and it took over two hours to get someone up inthe room. The maintenance man who ended up coming to the room already frustrated and I was also frustrated as I had waited two hours and had my mother sitting inthe bathroom while he came into the room. He had No idea how to fix the TV and ended up telling me to F en fix it myself and walked out of the room. I went down to the front desk to speak to the manger about him and found him complaining about Me to her in spanish. So that I could not understand. I said that and the maintenance man who took his mask down and I got into an argument. I told him to put his mask on and back off as I felt frightened by his aggressiveness. This whole argument should have never Happened. The manger should have handled his poor behavior and shut him down immediately. But she did not. Which made me feel even less secure as they were the only two in the hotel. I almost felt as if I should call the police as I honestly didn't feel safe with this man. Instead my husband who was staying at the house with no power, not planing on coming to the hotel, but he did to stay with us because of the 'incident' We then had to switch rooms as they could not fix the tv. The manger did come and help us move. She was very pleasant and professional. And then. ..its almost laughable. The new room ,.. the TV was going on and off. No refrigerator in this room ,..the phone didn't work. Do you think Id call that front desk again ?. Hell no ! And this my friends is a five star hotel !

Nice location and easy to get to. Pleasant and professional staff. Hotel has a nice look and feel; however the room decoration is dated and we had paint peeling from tub as well as a hole in the rug. The beds were comfortable with nice linens as advertised. I would have given a higher grade if the rooms were in better shape. The wedding and banquet facilities were very nice and the meals were well prepared.

Hotel is pleasant but needs a remodel our bathroom was old and our walls looked like they had water damage caving in and wallpaper pulling up on them. Restaurants were good.

Airport & Shuttle Information

Newark International Airport just 18 Miles! Port Authority regulated cabs line-up directly outside of Baggage Claim. The fare for up to three people is just under $60. Travel time by cab is approximately 30 minutes. The State Shuttle (800) 427-320, is $40 for one person plus gratuity and $10 for each additional person in the same party. Travel time is about 1 hour. A NJ Transit train from the Newark Airport to Convent Station (located directed directly behind the hotel) is $17 each way. Catch the tram at the airport terminals to the airport train station. A transfer is required at Secaucus Junction. Travel time is approximately 1 ½ hours.
