Clarion Collection formerly known as 'Qutab' building concept conceived by US Ambassador J.K. Galbraith in 1962, facing acute problem accommodate the US Embassy Staff. Original Block plan conceived by a German Architect.The Delhi Administration under then Lt Governor Sh. Jagmohan Singh allotted approximately 2.5 acres of land on lease purchase for a paltry sum of Rupees one only. A well-planned complex was built with firm foundation.In 1971 at the outbreak of the Indo-Pak war, the US Embassy was asked to vacate the entire complex and the same was handed over to Indian Government.Thus the Qutab reborn as a Hotel under ITDC chain of Hotels. ITDC changed the basic building structure and created two separate Blocks i.e. the main Hotel Block and a Service Block. The later was conceived to ensure lease rental commercialization.Clarion Collection, New Delhi, a part of the International chain of CHOICE HOTELS, is located in New Delhi, 15 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The hotel offers 2 dining options and rooms with flat-screen cable TVs.Well-situated in South Delhi, Hotel Clarion Collection is 23 km from the high-tech city of Gurgaon and 14 km from Connaught Place.The hotel has a total of 96 elegantly appointed guest rooms, ten non-smoking's and one physically challenged which include superior rooms, deluxe rooms, executive rooms and serviced apartments.
