"Under Renovation"

The hotel is currenlty under extensive renovations. The front entrance and lobby are closed and they have a temporary entrance. Next to the front desk area is the temporary restaurant and lounge. The hotel rooms have not been renovated yet so they are older, but the new rooms will be very nicely appointed with a comtemporary flare and dark furnishings. The pool was clean, the exercise room seems to be a bit old and outdated. The hotel has a Priority Club area which is private for members only. They serve complimentary breakfast and afternoon appetizers with beverages. The customer service I received at the hotel was great and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The htoel is 5 minutes from Charlotte Douglas Int'l Airport and they do have a free shuttle for transport. There are not any restaurants within walking distance to the hotel so driving would be required. Overall, I think after the hotel completes their renovations in the public areas and guest rooms, the hotel will be a very nice and comfortable place to stay. In the meantime, guest rooms will undergo renovations on a floor by floor basis.

"Terrible check in experience, bad customer service."

I had a reservation for a double queen room. We drove five hours and when we got to the hotel we were told we did not have a reservation. I showed the gentleman at the front desk my confirmation email showing the reservation and he said it was canceled. We did not cancel the reservation. He then said I could book another room at a different rate. My original booking was for $93.99 a night. The new rate was $121.99 a night. I told him that was unacceptable since I already had a reservation and that it needed to he honored. Finally he agreed and reinstated my reservation. Upon getting to my room we fo uh Nd that it was a single king bed. We kindly went back down to the front desk and told them we needed a double queen room. The folks at the front desk were very rude and acted like it was an inconvenience for them to change the room. Finally they did and we got a double queen room. We stayed two nights. When we went to get fresh towels from the front desk we waited in line for about 20 minutes. The front desk staff was not trained very well and seemed really confused on how they should operate. Everytime we went to the lobby there were folks waiting in line.
