My wife and I have been visiting Stowe for many years for long weekend getaways. The Grey Fox is a great combination of location and value. The restaurant/bar is open again and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We return every year because the property offers a great combination of value, service, location and consistency. Can't forget the friendly staff!

The Grey Fox Inn is in a prime location in Stowe. On Mountain Road the Grey Fox Inn is within walking distance to Stowe Village and five miles from the Mt Mansfield ski resort. The Little River runs through the far end of our 7½ acre property as does the popular Stowe Recreation Path. The “Rec Path” used by walkers and bikers alike is a 5 ½ mile long paved trail that winds from Stowe Village along side the Little River.FacilitiesBuilt in the 1800's as a working farm, the Grey Fox Inn was converted into an inn in the 1900's. With each change in hands the facility has been expanded in size and available amenities. Under new ownership over the past 10 years the Grey Fox Inn has seen numerous improvements; renovations of the lobby, conversation areas, bar, restaurants, fitness facility, meeting room and in-room amenities, such as flat panel HD TVs and WIFI.The Grey Fox Inn has 3 buildings. The Main Inn contains the lobby/front desk, a bi-level conversation area with a fireplace, public computer and guest seating areas. The front of the Main Inn is home to the Dutch Pancake Café which serves breakfast daily. The bar and porch also in the front of the Main Inn are part of The Pub restaurant serving dinner. The Main Inn has 16 rooms, some re-modeled, with a variety of configurations; single rooms, suites, multi-bed family style rooms and some with a fireplace and Jacuzzi.The Mountain View building has three levels and 18 rooms. All rooms have a patio or deck with views of Mt Mansfield, an extensive open lawn area and “The Rec” path. Room styles include 3 apartments with 2 bed rooms and 2 baths, living area with fireplace and full kitchen facilities. Additional room styles include both single and double bed configurations, some with a fireplace and Jacuzzi, or kitchenette.The Cottage House has 2 apartments that have been recently renovated for extended stays.
