Alfred Hitchcock once said 'Drama is life with the dull bits cut out,, and for the now famous folks of Essex this has become the norm.
This north Eastern town has a rich history and heritage that reaches back to the earliest days of the United Kingdom. Today the town and even the Hotels in Essex cater to the media as well as to the heritage of Essex and this is largely because of the concept of the Essex Man and the Essex woman that has become popular thanks to a popular TV show. However, travelers do find themselves in the city looking to enjoy the quaint wonder of the town as well as its night life.
Staying in Essex on the Cheap
Even though the area has a reputation for fancy things and opulence, there are plenty of budget hotels in Essex that offer comparable comfort to their more expensive counter parts. One of these cheap hotels is the Premier Inn Colchester (A12) hotel, a place that can provide party goers and travelers with a place to lay their heads once they have had their fill of the Essex night life. Yet another one of the cheap hotels in the city perfect for the weary party goer is the Brentwood hotel. The Premier Inn Hotel Brentwood is actually located near the area where the TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) is conducted, so fans of the show can get their fill.
The Posh End of Essex
With the popularity of shows like The Only Way Is Essex there is a bit of an obsession with style and quality which is why there is now no shortage of luxury Essex hotels. One of them is the Maison-Talboot, a hotel that offers up a formal and friendly welcome to all of its guests and of course assistance with luggage from the porters. This hotel has a garden and an outdoor terrace and is very popular for wedding. The hotel has Georgian decorated rooms has a full spa and several other amenities. Another example of the luxury hotels in the area is found in the Wiven House which is another manor home converted into a high-end hotel. This room is so upper crust that each one features a mac computer for the use of the guests and it's not too far from the city center and the notorious night life.
Ringing the Bell
The Bell Inn has a quirky name and an eye for looking at luxury in an innovative way by marrying the look of a traditional 15th century building (otherwise known as a coaching inn) with fine modern boutique hotel. This is one of the more unique Essex hotels though it is by necessity very close to some very high end shopping. This Georgian-era building offers ensuite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and other amenities. And in the upgraded rooms guests can enjoy a walk in closet. This is the perfect hotel for the immersive shopaholic who is on the make for a bit of culture and class.
