Even the surroundings of the hotel are picturesque and vibrant, a short stroll leads to not to be missed masterpieces of art and architecture:
Palazzo Labia, in Campo San Geremia, with one of the most beautiful and important painting cycles of the 18th century, work of the great Venetian painter Tiepolo; Ca' Vendramin Calergi, now site of the Venice Casino, by Codussi, an excellent example of Renaissance civil architecture, its mezzanine houses Casa Museo Wagner, which celebrates the great German composer who lived and died here in 1883;
the Ghetto, a unique architectural and city planning gem, intact since its founding in 1516 (it is the oldest in Europe). Around the Campo del Ghetto Nuovo, the tall buildings with lowered ceilings to house as many people as possible, the five schola (Synagogues), splendid treasures of art and faith, and the small but very complete Museo Ebraico (Hebrew Museum) testimony of the Jewish culture are an experience not to be missed.
