Property Description
North Lodge offers the affordable convenience of self catering accommodation at a central, stable location just 10-12 minutes direct drive from Durban beaches & other attractions/ businesses. The airport is a turn and 20 minutes away and public transport is on our doorstep. Enjoy spacious, drive-thru parking (next to your unit) with 2 gated entrances. The focus is on fresh, clean, airconditioned interiors with free fast wi-fi and full self catering facilities in all units. The simple unfussed, rustic and natural exteriors offer plenty of outdoor space in a natural garden.
At any guest house, the few hours one spends are mostly for sleeping/bathing/catching up online. So why pay more than necessary? We have 2 X 3 bedroom houses, a 2 bedroom cottage and 2 suites for couples. This is a total of 10 bedrooms for a maximum of 10 couples, but for singles, we can accommodate up to 30 guests.
Groups can choose this convenient, secure and central location and expect excellent service from a friendly host who lives on site. North Lodge offers the lowest rate of R284.50pppn sharing off peak for an airconditioned Self Catering Suite with satellite TV, Wi-fi and a built in kitchenette from just R249pps.Cottage rates from R1249pppn sharing. There are barbecue (braai) facilities throughout and gated parking.
This large private property (opened 2010) is a quick 8.5km from Durban's CBD, Beaches and less to the Stadiums and casinos. Parkhill in Durban North is a quiet, safe, established garden suburb with a mix of upmarket homes and well maintained, older mid-market homes (like North Lodge). We are set back a row from the R102 - Chris Hani Rd - a narrow strip of light industrial and commercial property that is also a direct & safe route for North Lodge guests.
The lodge offers energy back-up for power failures and the tap water is very drinkable.
Green Sustainability
Most definitely a green establishment.
We recycle, use solar-heated water, backed up with an energy-saving heat pump, we use gas, led globes AND energy-saving induction cookers.We recycle grey water and collect rainwater.

North Lodge is 20 minutes drive south of the King Shaka International Airport. We offer a 24 hour shuttle service at R350/trip up to 4 pax. Bigger groups on request.
Local Shuttle Info: Besides being conveniently located on a bus & rail route, we are serviced by a number of very reasonably priced transport services - from a city shuttle at approx R200 one-way right Uber taxis are here in 5 minutes.
