Property Description

The 100 acre estate of the Chanterelle Country Inn and Cottages is the place to "just be" on the Cabot Trail. Celebrating the beauty and the bounty of Cape Breton Island, it sits high on a brae overlooking the estuary of the North River as it flows into St. Ann's Harbour. The property has won prestigious recognition for its sustainable practices and for serving a refined regional cuisine. It offers several Nova Scotia Vacation Packages along with friendly expertise to provide personalized touring information and customized itineraries for guests wanting to "get in tune" with the cultural and natural diversity of Cape Breton Island. The Inn offers eight exquisite rooms and one two-room suite -- all with private baths, antique furnishings, oriental carpets and original works of art. It provides the perfect setting for retreats, romantic getaways, small weddings, executive meetings and other special occasions. The one bedroom cottages offer housekeeping facilities, televisions, telephones and spectacular views of the Harbour. In 2009, the Inn was one of 29 in Canada included on the "Stay List" of the National Geographic Traveler. The Chanterelle's restaurant specializes in serving a 'Cape Breton Fresh' cuisine prepared with locally and organically grown ingredients since 2000. In 2006, the dining room at the Inn was named to the prestigious "500 Best Places to Eat in Canada", Canada's national dining guide. The Chanterelle Inn and Cottages is an ideal location in which one can "suspend reality" and simply take a mental health break.
