Hotel West-Ende offers several trips through many of the picturesque villages in the surroundings of Helmond. It is also possible to visit nature reserves and bird sanctuaries. Golf-players can try the 9 and 18 holes golf-courses nearby. What is your handicap? Helmond is situated in the 'Peel', a very attractive part of Brabant. The centre of the city is dominated by a fourteenth century castle, which is open to visitors. This medieval castle used to be the home of the Lords of Helmond. Grand Brasserie Rubenshof is situated in the centre of Helmond: an old and small town in the south of the Netherlands in the province of Brabant. Helmond used to be a rich trading-town, which still can be seen while walking through the streets and experiencing its ambience, residence and remnants of the past. After renovation of the caracteristic nineteenth century (1880) residence, Grand Brasserie Rubenshof opened its doors winter 2001. Unique elements such as high ceilings and authentic chandeliers can still be found in this luxuriously decorated interior. A visit to Grand Brasserie Rubenshof is an unique occasion to experience the well-known hospitality of the Brabantine. Besides that it is an ideal environment to enjoy a drink or a meal.
