Property Description

Antbear Lodge is situated in the Drakensberg Mountains of Kwazulu Natal. What makes us particularly special is that we are offering accommodation in a luxury cave. This is an accommodation unit built under a rock. Glass doors open onto a wooden deck with hammock chairs and a spectacular view of the Drakensberg Mountains. This is an up market eco experience. The cave is cozy and comfortable and has features like a Jacuzzi spa bath, lounge with fire place and even has rock art on the walls. We also offer a private dining experience where we setup a table on the deck of your cave and you dine by candlelight under the stars. And guys if you cant get her to say yes here then she just is not going to say it. Antbear Lodge is a small owner run establishment with 17 separate accommodation units. Either Mountain View suites or garden view cottages. We cook everything from scratch and have our own organic vegetable garden. We put a South African spin on all the food we create and we cater for all dietary requirements with absolute pleasure. We have chickens for eggs, cows for milk, bake our own bread and even make our own cheese. Every single piece of furniture, window fittings, doors and finishing's are all made here on the premises. We have created incredible artworks that are seriously big and bold. The woodwork alone makes this lodge a destination in its own right. We also offer horse trails that are ideally suited for beginners. We use the softer horse whispering techniques to train our horses and go for gentle outrides on the farm. I have a pilot's license and a microlight on the farm and if the weather is fine I love to take guests with me. And we arrange hot air balloon flights. You will leave us inspired and rejuvenated having had and experience that includes incredible views, food that has a real South African flare, a perfect nights rest and seen the best that the Drakensberg Mountains offer
