Property description
La Madrugada Beach Hotel & Resort with its 37 rooms is located at the South-East coast of Zanzibar in Makunduchi, which is an amazing coral village with white sand beaches that go down in gentle slope on a turquoise background. The location is great for the people love the natural and traditional Zanzibar village.
The 3 kilometer long white sand beach perfect for walking, running, relaxing, and exploring… It is ideal for family, for friends, and romantic couples. Not recommended for people who search an exiting night life.
The location is perfect not only for all sorts of beach activities, but also an excellent base to explore other activities like Stone Town (for shopping & history), Jozania Forest National Park and swimming with Dolphins.
La Madrugada is a unique and peaceful beachfront Resort. In the lounge area you will find a free wireless Internet zone which is also a perfect place to relax and enjoy some of our many boardgames.
We have 2 pools in the center of the plot facing towards the sea. At the pool you will find our pool bar with plenty of refreshments.
All the rooms have view over the pool-area and to the ocean with seating outside to enjoy ”a night on the terrace”. The interiour of the rooms are all arranged in an effective Zanzibar style.
The combination between European management and local participation is providing a well organized tropical feeling and the ideal place to relax from business life.

The Makunduchi area is a quiet and peaceful area where the main activities include beach & sea activities, trips to local sites or the famous festivals in the area. Usually taking place end of July, the Mwaka Kogwa is the celebration of the Shirazi or Persian new year. It is a flamboyant demonstration of Zanzibar passion and style, with the biggest single event being held at Makunduchi in Southern Unguja.
When it comes to water sports and activities you have a bundle to choose from! The nice breeze provides a perfect environment for kiting, the crystal clear water is made for snorkling and diving, and not to forget deep-sea fishing! Ever dreamt of swimming with a dolphin?
